Award Winners (And Weekend Puzzle #253)
Last night, we were awarded the Tech Impact Award for Entertainment by Seattle Business Magazine! You can read the full story here. We are excited that our little company has received this, and we celebrated today with doughnuts. Yum.
On a side note, we have a one-day sale happening now! If you don’t have Ransom of the Seven Ships, now is a good time to get caught up on this game before Labyrinth of Lies is released.
Yesterday I wrote the words “It may be early to tell, but who do you suppose the culprit(s) is/are?” It looks like some discussion is going on already about this! There is always the possibility of more than one culprit…and depending on how you look at it, many suspects in past games have had something to be guilty for. Like in Trail of the Twister, Warnings at Waverly Academy, The Shattered Medallion, Alibi in Ashes, just to name a few. (And if you haven’t played these games, don’t worry, I never spoil who the culprit really is.) So it really depends on how you look at it. Let me rephrase my question, now: Which character do you think is the most guilty and will become your villain? 😉
Weekend puzzle time! Whoo-hoo! (Click on the image for a larger view.)
And some birthdays! 😀

I think Niobe is the main culprit. On a side note, for someone who may be less of a bad guy but rather be guilty about something else… I’d say probably Grigor. Otherwise just the main.
The answer is PHLEGETHONRIVER or Phlegethon river.
In Greek mythology, the river Phlegethon was one of the five rivers in the infernal regions of the underworld, alnog with the rivers Styx, Lethe, Cocytus and Acheron. Plato describes it as “a stream of fire, which coils round the earth and flows into the depths of Tartarus.” It was parallel to the river Styx. It is said that the goddess Styx was in love with Phlegethon, but she was consumed by his flames and sent to Hades. Eventually when Hades allowed her river to flow through, they reunited.
Congratulations! You guys totally deserve this!
I wanted to inquire about your merchandise store. I was wondering if long sleeve shirts (preferably black) would ever be sold for a clothing choice. Especially this time of year, it gets COLD in my area and I would think that any Ghost of Thornton Hall images would look awesome on a black thermal.
But that’s just my 2 cents here, again, congratulations on the award!
Thanks! As for the shirts, we don’t have any plans to add those just yet, but it’s a great idea! 😀
Congratulations on the award! 😀
I don’t know who I’d pick as the villain….I am making another guess, however: I’m saying Nancy will wind up playing Persephone in the drama…who knows where that could lead.
Is the weekend puzzle like a clock? Check out the jackalope hands. Btw lj, my b-day is september 29 I love the shattered medallion and I’m turning 15
Not quite a clock. It’s a semaphore (flag) code. 😉 I’ll add your birthday to my calendar!
Phlegethon river which means flaming or fire flaming river in Greek and has to do with greek mythology referring to LIE prob
So, a previous puzzle was the river Styx and this is Phlegethon… Will the next be Lethe, Cocytus or Acheron? 😛
