St. Patrick’s Day 2017
We have so many things today! Where, oh where do I even start?! Well, first off, tonight’s the grand finale night for playing Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy! I hope you can join the party and hang out with us on Twitch!
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day (we are playing The Haunting of Castle Malloy set in Ireland) we have a sale!
We also asked our fans to take some selfies of themselves watching us on Twitch yesterday. Thanks to all the beautiful fans who shared!
I would love to share more lovely faces next week from tonight’s Twitch party! If you think of it, take a selfie during the party and tweet it to us on Twitter, or post to our Facebook page!

And just for fun, here’s your weekend puzzle. Well, it’s not so much a puzzle as it is an activity for St. Patrick’s day. One of our team members purchased this map of Ireland showing where all the family names came from. There are some duplicates, too. My maiden name is Joyce, and I’m descended from an Irish family who traveled over in the 1700s. Can you find this? Are any of you Irish? Can you find you family name?
Bonus: locate the name Malloy, in reference to the Nancy Drew game! (Click on the image for a larger view.)

Is MID currently the top priority at HER, yes or no?
Hello Gnillet, I cannot speak to the priorities of the company’s business decisions. All I can say is that we are working on it. When I have news to share, I will.
So that means no, it’s not. If it was the top priority, you’d be more than happy to assure fans/customers of that. Is another Codes and Clues game being developed?
Hello Gnillet, sorry, we have no news about the next Codes and Clues game at this time, either.
you say that as if Codes and Clues 2 is currently being developed but you cant say anything. Please finish MID first <3
Enjoying the Twitch feed! For the next one, could you please do The Secret of the Old Clock? I think that was the first book in the series and it would tie in with National Nancy Drew Day. 🙂
Hahaha I found you’re name… and I just found Malloy! Neato!
I’ve been waiting for the interview with Prof. Hotchkiss!!!!!
Wexford County is my place 🙂
why would you not publish my comment? and why do you delete comments? this is not the her interactive that i used to know. 🙁
Hello Mandy, I don’t mean to sound rude, but I don’t answer personal questions on the blog. I only talk about Nancy Drew topics and things about HeR Interactive. I hope this is understandable.
I found yours and mine, LJ! 😀
I’m in Galway, took quite sometime but there I am. “Dooley”
Even though it’s a bit late, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Are you as in the dark as we are about MID?
Hi LJ,
I have been dying to know something about the conversations in the Nancy Drew games. I know you might not be allowed to give out this information, but if you can, I would really appreciate a response. Are the conversations pre-rendered videos, or do they consist of audio and motion data which your models perform?
Thanks!
Hi Opal, I’m not sure how to answer that since I’m not in the art or prod/dev department. To my knowledge, the voice actors are pre-recorded, then the animators rig them and animate them. Each character has around 12 different mouth movements that the animators queue for every conversation.
Ah, okay, thanks for answering my question as best you could. I was just thinking about how cool it would be to animate using those amazing models, so I thought that if they weren’t pre-rendered into video I could maybe get a better look at them for reference if I wanted to make my own versions of the characters. But don’t worry, I would never try to rip the models from the game. Anyway, thanks!
What are the names of the pub songs Nancy has to play in HAU? Was one of them “Morrison Merrily Kissed the Quaker”?
Also, towards the end of HAU, there is a point where right after having explored the tower and the roll-top desk, you can talk to Kyler, but when you click on the dialogue where Nancy reveals her findings, the game freezes. Maybe you can shed some light on this.
Hello The Red Wolf, I wish I could be of more help, but I’m really not sure what the songs played were. 🙁 I wasn’t here when the game was made. I’m also unsure of the cause of the game freezing, if we don’t have an FAQ post with patch help, please contact us at techsupport@herinteractive.com. Our tech team may be able to look into it.
