Party Day 3 Video

Happy Monday! The last day Twitch party video is up on YouTube if you didn’t catch it, posted here:

As for the weekend puzzle, it was in ASCII code, also known as ALT code when you hold down the Alt button and type the number. The result is [“Jimmy, stop hitting your sister!“] a quote from Coucou in Ransom of the Seven Ships.

Hi LJ! Happy Monday (and probably Tuesday when you see this) to you too! I have a question about Codes and Clues. Did production of C&C overlap with production on SEA at all, or was C&C made after SEA, when it was mentioned in your August/December 2015 letters to the fans?

  2. Alex says:

Hey LJ, I was wondering, do you personally think that MID is ever going to be released?

  3. Jackson says:

    Hi LJ,

What ever happened to the Codes and Clues TV show? Did they decide not to do it?

    THanks!

    • Little Jackalope says:

It was up in Xfinity for a while, then it was over. You can watch all the episodes on the Codes & Clues YouTube channel. 🙂

LJ, would love some answers and would like toI ask what this is about https://www.herinteractive.com/shop-games/odyssey/

Is this is the reason MID has been delayed?

Does the company not realize you are no longer providing products your consumers want?

Can we expect an official statement in the near future that you are no longer producing adventure games but are now focusing on games for children only?

I’ve been suppprting this company for over 15 years as have MULTIPLE others. Not sure why HER thinks its appropriate to follow this recent, silent course of action.

Thank you for any answers you provide, which, I’m sure, won’t/can’t be many.

    • Dc says:

Also, I just noticed where another customer had emailed asking about the odyssey game. I regards to the response they received stating that this game is produced by another company and quite similar to Nancy drew so HER felt we would enjoy them. Does this mean you are phasing out the Nancy Drew series altogether and thus encouraging us to find different games similar to what we’re used to?

It’s very odd a company would encourage its customers to purchase a product from another company. Especially after leading us to believe you will eventually publish the newest ND product.

Please find a way to answer these questions clearly rather than skirting around them as has been the recent habit.

      Thanks again for your time!

      • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Dc, we are not “phasing out” the Nancy Drew series. We are still working on Midnight in Salem. Many game companies offer games made by other companies, it isn’t uncommon. (For example, Valve, BigFish, etc.) I hope this answers your questions.

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Dc, I hope my answering of your questions disproves our silence. We try to answer as many comments and questions as we can get to. Odyssey is made by the company “The Young Socratics.” We have not devoted production time to this game, but rather, we are in support of this company that has made an educational game that feels similar in style to our Nancy Drew mysteries. For an official statement about Odyssey, read this press release here.

  5. Susan Dugger says:

is her stop making nancy drew games, because they have The Young Socratics: Odyssey on their site.

  6. Anonymous says:

Wait, this new Odyssey game, is that why MID was delayed? Because you were making two games at once? If so, everything makes sense!! It looks like you put a lot of effort into Odyssey, and I think it used Unity, right? So now you guys can put all your attention toward MID, if I’m thinking right. If that means MID is coming soon (well, in the near future) that’s so exciting! Also, will Odyssey be available on physical copy?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Anonymous. We did not make Odyssey, therefore we did not spend anytime on it and is not the cause of MID not being released yet. Odyssey is only available in digital copy.

  7. Dany says:

Hey LJ, HeR didn’t develop Odyssey, right? Can you explain why it’s being promoted on your site? From what I can tell you’ve always only promoted your own games so it was a bit unexpected to see that.

  8. Jam says:

Is Odyssey the reason for MIDs delay???

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Jam, Odyssey is not the cause of MID being “delayed” as we did not make it.

      • Jackson says:

Why did you put the word delayed in quotes? It has been delayed because originally you said it would release in Fall 2016. Is it cancelled 🙁

        • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Jackson, there is nothing to read into. I put “delayed” in quotes to quote the person I was responding to. In reality, the game isn’t delayed. It is still being worked on. Even if it not released in the time frame initially expected. We do not have a release date yet for Midnight in Salem.

      • Marian says:

Hi LJ, I am wondering why you put the word “delay” in quotation marks, responding to someone asking about MID, when there is a new post on Facebook from Nancy Drew Games that says this:

“We continue to make progress on Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem but we are unable to commit to a release date as of right now. We know the longer than usual wait time for a new Nancy Drew game is very frustrating for our fans. We apologize for the delay and continue to work as hard as we can on this next title. Thanks for hanging in there with us. We appreciate you and the entire Nancy Drew community. Stay tuned and stay sleuthy!”

So, it puzzles me that you would put the word “delay” in quotation marks when in fact Nancy Drew Games used this word in this recent post, to say that the game has indeed been delayed.

        • Little Jackalope says:

Marian, I put “delayed” in quotes to use the words of the person I was responding to. I was quoting them. The post we put on Facebook is true.

  9. Will says:

Would it be safe to assume MID has been so delayed due to the production of Odyssey? Just curious. 🙂

Thanks for doing what you do, LJ, it really does help. 😀

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Will. Odyssey did not delay MID because we did not make Odyssey. The Young Socratics made Odyssey.

      • Jackson says:

A lot of people are saying that maybe Young Socratics are the outsourcers making MID and that MID will look like the Odyssey game. Did they need to finish their game first, and that is why MID is delayed?

      • Will says:

Aah okay, I was a little confused on how that worked. I don’t doubt I’ll buy both games the minute they come out! 😉

  10. Darien174 says:

Will MIS be out this year?

  11. Claire says:

Is The Young Socratics the company that MID has been outsourced to? If not, can you please say who the company is?
