Vintage Sounds

Even though today is National Sunglasses Day (shout out to Margherita from The Phantom of Venice!), I would like to write about something totally different…

Are you a classic Nancy Drew fan? As in, you really like the old Nancy Drew games (1-12 or so)? Then you might enjoy this bit: On the Stay Tuned for Danger page, if you scroll down to the Downloads section, we offer a free ringtone download of 30 seconds of the original Nancy Drew opening theme music! It was the first game to use this music, so we thought this was a fitting place to put it.

Here’s a sample listen:

Be sure to follow online directions for your type of phone in getting it set up. It’s a different process for Apple iPhones, Android phones, and Windows Phones, so be sure to look up proper install directions.

On a side note, I’m back in the office! I had been out of the office for three weeks recovering from getting my leg fixed. Yay! Soon I will be able to walk without that limp you’ve seen me with in past videos.

Hi, I do not see the download section to get the ringtone. I even typed “download section” in the search box and found nothing.

    Thanks.

Hi Brittany! Go to the Stay Tuned for Danger page here. Scroll down to the tabbed section, under “Game Assets” click on Downloads. That is where it is kept. 🙂

How do I get it to my phone? When I clicked on it, it saved to my Media Player, but that’s it. How do I get it to get to my phone so I can use it as a ringtone? Also, I do not have a smartphone, it’s a flip phone.

        • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Brittany! I’m honestly not sure how to get it to a flip phone. Look at your phone and note the model and perhaps your service provider, then run an internet search of that model’s guide how to add ringtones.

This music was the best! Sometimes I play games 15 and before just to hear it and see the menu. Oddly, 16 and 17 had no music at all! And then the new music started with #18 . . . also with that game we started getting new desktop icons. Before, it was all the same one of Nancy’s head (although 15-17 were a bit different.) I think it would be really cool if HeR designed more icons and then made them downloadable for us to use so that we could change up the older ones.

I was wondering where the directions are for the download. I can download the ringtone to my computer but I can’t get it on my phone. Thanks,

    -Hannah

Hi Hannah! We didn’t provide instructions since so many people have different phones and carriers. We suggest searching online for instructions on your phone type’s method to installing ringtones.

  6. I have I phone 4hi this Kelsey nd fan years ago old bit have loved koko l Kringle bar year ago yes thank you so much hey

  7. Rebecca says:

Is there anywhere we can find the actual ringtone options from within the game itself, like in Alibi in the Ashes each character has various ringtone options on their phone, is there somewhere to find those? Also, the songs from the arcade games like Wiki Tiki and such?
