Awards, Trophies and Badges
We have gone through many end-game awards over the years. At first, we were left to feel proud of ourselves over the accomplished game, which, after the closing letter, would drop us into the end credits. But when we made The Haunted Carousel, we added something a little extra to say “Well done!”
Game awards!
Because of Nancy’s subscription to “Sassy Detective” magazine, we tied in the “Sassy Detective Awards” that awarded you a digital certificate named after what you were best at or did the most of when solving the case, like solving puzzles, calling friends, finding Easter Eggs, etc.
Later, in Legend of the Crystal Skull, we changed it up to a list, so that you can read all of the awards you can possibly get. The ones you earn would be checked off. Also, in the end credits would appear a detective’s badge (either Junior or Senior) with as many stars as awards you earned.
And now, we have reached my favorite award: In The Deadly Device, at the end of the game you get special trophies that light up when you achieve it. I find this the most beautiful display of awards we’ve had yet, but that’s just my opinion. XD

It was a great idea to make them into trophies, but in my opinion, they should be an option from the Main Menu. That screen looks so well designed that it deserves to be part of the gameplay, not some after thought!!
And the achievements should all be assigned to one save file. (Unless you change your name like in other games.)
I’ll be honest as well, I LOVE the new awards too! It would be really cute if you guys ever consider making award trophies on the merchandise store. It would make a really cute collectors item for a Nancy Drew collection 😀
I love the awards at the end of each game. They always push me to try harder next time and get all the stars!
From me,
Silvertongue.
Hi Little Jackalope! I’m turning 14 on the 25th of January, and it would mean the world to me if you could please give me a shout out!! I’m having a Nancy Drew themed party! Love Erin
@Erin — You bet! Hey would you send us pictures of your birthday party since it’s Nancy Drew themed? If it’s ok with you, that would be something really cool to share on the Amateur Sleuth blog!
@Shainnen Somerville — We are sort of thinking about that…but they will likely be images to go on the current existing merchandise, instead of actual trophies. :-/
Finding out what awards I get is one of my favorite parts of finishing the game:) Seeing the teaser is the other favorite!

Trying to get the Chemist Award, but I can’t figure out how to make a 1.2 batch. How do I make a .2? A hint would be appreciated.
Hello Dian! You need to make 5 mixes to get the award. 🙂
Got the award – but there is no way you can make the 1.2 formula with the tools you have. Make the ones you can and then improvise – get blown up. Don’t know how many it takes, but you have to put some in a bottle instead of just tossing it. If you have left over chemicals pour them back into their bottle instead of tossing it. Don’t know the capacity of the white beaker, but I tossed it at 28.
Hi again Dian, where do see you are to make 1.2? Is that in the game? Or in the guide?
