A Tour of Local Ghost Stories

Today I’ve been working on a video from our Nancy Drew “Haunted Maine” convention in Ogunquit, Maine. This one features our Ghost tour on Friday the 13th at night. It was a walking tour along the Marginal Way, a 1-mile walk along the coast from the hotel “Anchorage by the Sea” to Barnacle Billy’s restaurant at Perkins Cove. The walk along the coast didn’t have any path lights, so we went by way of flashlight. Unfortunately, this doesn’t make for very good video… it’s completely black. The audio is hard to here since the wind along the water was quite breezy.

That being said, I gathered what I could and will be re-narrating the stories myself with pictures. Here are some picture sneak peeks:

“Devil’s Kitchen” is a rocky side of the ocean where you can hear ghostly noises. The rocks were put here by man…could it be covering a cave?

Hi LJ I think I asked this before but is there a way to make a computer screensaver out of the box art or the main artwork for each game???

    • Little Jackalope says:

There is a way! You can download the program called Screensaver Factory and make screensavers yourself, but if you want a game-themed one, we have several screensavers available for download (free) on each games’ web page. Scroll down to the Downloads tab.

  2. Blackrose says:

Never mind LJ I found out what other people were doing. Thank you

Hello Little Jackalope! I have a question about Ghost of Thornton Hall that I was hoping you might be able to answer. There’s a note in the basement saying that Charlotte was obsessed with Jackson. First of all, did Harper write that? And second, what was it about? What was Charlotte trying to locate or find out?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Drew! I would have to re-visit this. I don’t remember this off the top of my head. Sorry! Maybe we will come across the answer tonight in our Twitch party!

    • Elizabeth Riepenhoff says:

Jackson is the nickname of one of her ancestors or family members, if I remember correctly, though I can’t remember which one.

    • Drew says:

Thank you both! Jackson was Clara, Wade, Harper, and Charlotte’s grandfather. That’s why the note in the basement is so puzzling. If you remember the answers during the twitch party, I would be very grateful for letting me know. But as far as I know, the note was never explained in the game, which is why I was hoping for some behind-the-scenes info. Is there someone else at HeR Interactive you could ask who might know what the note was all about?
      Thanks

      • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Drew, if we come across it, then we will highlight it, however, there are no additional behind-the-scenes facts about Jackson because he wasn’t as crucial to the mystery as other areas were.

Hey, Little Jackalope! I hope you are doing great! Have you ever read alternate endings by members of the HeR message boards? I have read some and thought they were amazing!

I remember how the message boards used to be so active. Maybe you can do a blog post about it? I’m interested in behind the scenes.

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Amy! I’m doing well, thanks! How have you been these days? I do remember reading the alternate endings on the MB a long time ago, and they are so creative! Sadly, message boards were really popular in the early 2000s, even for other game web sites. However, with the evolution of the internet, most people skip going to the message boards and simply research answers, walkthroughs, and video help. It’s easier for many.

My birthday is October 30th and I will be 20 years old! Can I get a birthday shoutout?! 🙂 Happy sleuthing!

  6. Prairie says:

Hi LJ! When are we gonna have another twitch party? And if we are going to have one soon, what game will we be playing?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Prairie! You can check the schedule on our Twitch channel if you are ever curious. Tonight we start playing Ghost of Thornton Hall!
