This is absolutely shocking. A 13 day build up leading to a sale of a game that is 7 years old. This is getting old, HeR. If you go onto your Facebook page, you can see that virtually everybody was angry and sick of the company always letting the fans down all the time. Soon enough, all your previously loyal fans will all give up on HeR and Nancy Drew, they will move onto other companies that actually care about their fanbase. The least you could have done was announce (on the facebook page, not just the ASB) that no MID news would be given today. Extremely disappointing.

A lot of people thought it was fun. I know I did. If you didn’t enjoy it then that’s probably your fault, sorry.

      • Sapphire says:

If you go on the facebook page, you’ll see how many people are angry with the SAW sale because it was such a let down.

        • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Sapphire, I am aware of the disappointment of the fans who expected something other than a sale. I hope to share more content in the future that would be satisfactory.

      • Gnillet says:

Sophia K. R. A., it’s not about enjoyment, it’s the fact that having a 13 days countdown was unintentionally misleading to some people. Some folks didn’t know that it was “just for fun,” they thought it was going to be about MID, but it turned out to be just a sale on a single game. All that build up for nothing ……. people have the right to express their disappointment. I personally agree with Sapphire wholeheartedly. It was insensitive to hold this countdown, knowing that people get excited during Halloween for MID. Most of these MID comments here are aimed at the higher-ups at HeR, and the majority of comments here express frustration in a relatively polite manner. Many of us know that LJ is in marketing and can’t control what she can or cannot share about MID. LJ listens to us, which is why many people choose to “vent” here, but it isn’t aimed at her. I know we’re all on edge here, but I would never blame another HeR fan for their opinion. If someone is disappointed, then that’s that. They can’t help how they feel. If you enjoyed the countdown, then that is wonderful, I’m happy for you. I’m glad that at least someone is enjoying themselves. I get it – the blog used to be a positive, happy place (and it still is!) but now this MID stuff is dampening the mood. Hopefully, this will all be over soon.
(Wow, sorry for that LONG rant. Didn’t realize I wrote that much.)

  5. Anna says:

Hi LJ, I don’t want to pester you or anything, but do you know when the update that’s still being edited, that was promised in May, will be out?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Anna! I’m sorry, but I do not know when we will have official news to share.

      • DCollins says:

At what point does your CEO and whoever else is in charge realize this is getting extremely old and ridiculous? How can you have absolutely NOTHING after 2 years? Even if you legally cannot say anything you could at least TELL us you CAN’T say anything rather than appearing as if you don’t WANT to say anything.

I apologize that you’re the one stuck with taking all of the flak that I honestly don’t feel is your fault but rather those above you. I appreciate all of your patience and attempts to communicate with us.

        • Little Jackalope says:

Hello DCollins. If you followed the blog while we were working on previous Nancy Drew games, then you’ll know how much I enjoy giving the fans behind-the-scenes facts, teases, and news. I appreciate your patience for the day when I can share more news and the fun behind-the-scenes content.

          • Claire says:

I believe the wait will be worth it when we can see screenshots of people/places, despite what others may think. 🙂

          • Jackson says:

I am just afraid that by the time the CEO lets you say things, many people will have moved on, and then MID wont make enough sales for another game 🙁 Also the game will have to be amazing for people to stop being angry, but if the CEO was more cheerful and friendly, people would be more forgiving if the game is just normal.

People are really angry and so many have moved on already, or only buying off Steam on sale. By alienating the fans now, there may not be any left by the time the CEO wants / is ready to talk. What is she waiting for? For her horoscope to say it is a good day? 😉

Thank you for passing on our message LJ! You are doing a wonderful job, I can’t imagine how hard it must be for you!

        • ChestyVonF says:

I could not agree more. What kind of a CEO not only refuses to give out ANY information on a new game for TWO YEARS, but also fails to deliver a promised update MONTHS after claiming one’s coming?! You want to take your time perfecting a game and building interest, that’s one thing. But to not even give fans the respect of following through on a brief written communication? That’s just insulting.

  6. your awersome, herinteractive!!!

I have a question about the pumpkin carving contest: I sent in a submission through the email, but I just now created a Facebook. Should I create a facebook post of that same submission or not?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello MJT! If you already sent in your entry via email, no worries. We will post it on your behalf. However, if you have any additional entries, feel free to use your new Facebook account to post to our page! Thank you!
