Holiday Planning
We are starting the planning on Thanksgiving and Christmas events and sales, so I’ve been brainstorming a few fun things. BUT… I could use your help! The first project involves many items. Here’s the list I need help making: what are the most iconic items you remember from all the Nancy Drew games? For example: KoKo Kringles, and phone charms. Here’s a few things I wrote down already. What do you think?
My second project involves a video or two. My question for you is this: when you think of the Christmas, Hanukkah, and Winter Solstice season, what do you think of? Specific songs? Traditions? Items? Decorations? Themes? Activities? Foods?
We do have a fan birthday to celebrate!
On a separate note:
In case you heard rumors or noticed, confidential company information was leaked and a few fans were excited to share a cheat for the old Nancy Drew games. The person who originally shared this info broke our Non-Disclosure Agreement by sharing this. We have asked our fellow fans to help us keep this internal code from spreading our private secret to other players. We hope that Nancy Drew fans will understand the need to take down this info. We really appreciate your discretion before sharing this confidential information, and we thank you.

You’re welcome! 🙂
The classic ND key could be an icon you could use if that’s not already written down. To answer the second question, I always think of snow and skiing because that tends to be what I do at that time of year!
Thank you for the about out-Ally was very excited! 🙂
That was supposed to be shout out. 🙁
Haha, you take notes on graph paper too!
When I think of the holiday season, I think of cold weather, hot cocoa, eggnog. Turkey. Friends. Family.
George Washington crossing the Delaware River.
Andrew hit all the points honestly! I can’t think of anything that wasn’t covered by the two of you… save maybe dead roses, which have been a staple in a few ND games!(But they don’t hold a whole lot of holiday cheer D:)
For Christmas I think of glittering and glowing decor, a large family dinner, and of course the classic “A Christmas Carol” movie~

Hey Little Jackalope, I just came across an amazing tool for learning Morse code. It’s a spread sheet chart. The diagram lets you follow with your pencil based on dit or dash to determine your letter. Practice 15 min a day and you’ll have it memorized in no time! Pretty amazing. The website even has slow speed morse code for beginners for ease of listening. I though the Nancy Drew fans might want to know about this. I know I was super excited to see that the diagram really does work and knowing that the games do use Morse code often it’s a nice little thing to have in your back pocket. Hopefully I’ll get my Morse code memorized soon. It’s amazing the speed of the coders during WWII. They could just listen and immediately tell you the sentence and message coming through. Here’s the website with the graph . Enjoy! -Kate http://www.learnmorsecode.com/
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
1) I don’t know if this has already been mentioned, but the birthday cake in the Secret of Shadow Ranch is a classic image!
2) When I think of the Christmas holidays, I think of the “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” song, warm fires, hot cocoa, chocolate chip cookies, and of course snow!
I always remember that painting in the passage in CLK, it is something like Creepy’s Corner

Nancy’s Catsuit in VEN

Nancy Drew & Hardy Boys Mega Mystery: A Crime For Christmas.
There hasn’t been a winter-holiday game yet. Maybe you could use one. After all, MID is sort of a Halloween game. Why not have Christmas/Hanukkah, Easter, New Years, and even Valentine’s Day.
I’ve also come up with a couple of game plot ideas (it’s more like a collection of thoughts and ideas from several people I know).
Ned has been kidnapped and only ND can find him.
Undercover in Russia (no more details)
A friend invites Nancy to stay with her in Israel, but the friend gets abducted. Nancy must now team up with Israeli law enforcement to find him/her.
Reports of vampires appear in [insert country here] and Nancy must get to the bottom it.
Comic book style antihero has drawn Nancy to Chicago to learn about vigilantism and stop this caped criminal
While volunteering at a nursing home, a patient thinks Nancy is his late wife and tells her of a great treasure and that HE KNOWS WHERE IT IS. Unfortunately he dies, but not before giving her a clue.
I know none of these have anything to do with the holidays, but maybe your people can gather inspiration from this. 🙂
Was that about Arglefhump’s video?
I was thinking it would be cool to like make a box/basket of items from one game, like for Curse of Blackmoor Manor have like glow sticks, the constellation match-up game, a book on cockney and recipes for the meals(loop-de-loop, bangers and mash. pinky and perky and a dogs eye)
just an idea though.
I really miss the Good News Bad News second chance screens.
Hey LJ!
Here are some words that to me describe Christmas:
Cozy
Warmth
Family
Love
Food
Christmas songs
