Widescreen Wallpapers & Fan Videos (And Weekend Puzzle #317)
September 23rd, 2016
Hey all! A big fan, Huw, interviewed me for his YouTube channel! If you have a spare hour and fifteen minutes, we chat about all kinds of things. Enjoy! (And thanks, Huw for the fun chat!)
Also, I found more hi-res screenshots! This time, they are from Shadow at the Water’s Edge. There are two added to the downloads page; Yumi’s Bento, and the entrance to the Ryokan.
Here’s your weekend puzzle, enjoy!

Well, thanks for joining me in the chat! I just interviewed Indy, so keep an eye out for that!
Very nice interview, LJ. And if you find any more desktop wallpapers, please share them. I am loving these! 🙂
I already watched the video!
I’ve started learning Russian! I’m gonna buy some games in Russian!!!!!!!
Aah! SAW <3
Thanks for finding this LJ!
These screenshots in Hi-Res are so cool! Why weren’t the games released in such hi-res though? If there’s screenshots in this quality the games must’ve been made in that quality right?
Hi NDfan204! Not necessarily. All the game art was rendered out 1024px or smaller, depending on how new the game is. (We upgraded the resolution a few times since 1997.) The high-res art I’m finding was rendered out this large for the box art, since print work has to be at 180 or 300 dpi to print the same quality as you see a 72px image on a digital screen. I’m simply converting the CMYK hi-res art to RGB wallpapers for use as the desktop wallpapers. So they appear quite big on computer screens. 🙂
That’s really cool, I love Shadow at the water’s edge!
^-^
