Indy Says Goodbye and Shares a Fun Adventure With Tess
Hi guys it’s Indy. Before we get to the sad stuff, first I want to share with you the adventure Tess and I had when we traveled to Wickford Castle! Okay, it wasn’t actually Wickford Castle, but it was the closest thing you can get to the real one. We went to a small island town called Port Townsend. There we explored, snooped, and ate at Manressa Castle, the inspiration for Wickford Castle in Nancy Drew: Treasure In The Royal Tower.
First to get to the Island we had to take a ferry ride over there. “The views were beautiful; the water was a bright blue, the sky was cloudless, and the backdrop of mountains almost looked like a painting. We were fortunate to have a day like this to explore.” -Tess
Next we drove about an hour and a half to get to the castle. While on this bridge we drove into the most dense fog I had ever seen! It only seemed to surround the bridge and nothing else! I would have gotten a photo but I was kinda driving and didn’t want Tess’s or my disappearance to become the next plot of a Nancy Drew game. Once we got to the castle we realized how much of it reminded us of the Purple Hearted Queen. Here we are in “the front room of the castle. Doesn’t it look like there could be a secret passageway hidden behind that book shelf?” – Tess
After exploring the first room we pulled a Nancy and snuck into some haunted rooms! If you want to see the footage of that keep reading and watch the video below. When we climbed allllllll the way up to the top we leaned over the fire escape (I know, we’re being awesome teen sleuths) and Tess snapped this photo of what we think inspired Ezra’s secret garden.
After all of our snooping we ate a lovely breakfast there. We had reservations for lunch, but I kind of overestimated traffic and how long the ferry would take by about 2 hours…Luckily Tess was game for hot chocolate and french toast. 🙂 Once we had investigated every inch of the castle, including the dungeon we walked all over the rest of the island town and found some first edition Nancy Drew books! We also took pictures of every thing that reminded us of other Nancy Drew games. Which games do you think we were reminded of?
Congratulations to anyone who has read this far down! Now is where I must get to the first half of this post’s title. As you may or may not know, today is my last day as one of the 2016 Summer Interns. As my keyboard fills with tears, hehe, I must reflect on my time here at HeR Interactive this summer. You can hear all about it by watching my goodbye video. One thing I want to add that I didn’t mention in my video is that when I first started I was the only intern and was unaware Tess was even a possibility. I am so happy she joined half way through my time here! It gave me someone else to joke around with when Little Jackalope was gone, or you know, actually working.
All jokes aside I have loved every minute of this summer and it is such a bittersweet day for me. I need to get going though so I can finish packing up my office. I have to pick my dad up at the airport soon. He is going to drive back home with me. I must admit, even through this is my last day, I get to see everyone tomorrow for Little Jackalope’s wedding so today isn’t really goodbye for my new friends and I!
Indy, signing off.
You and Tess have been my favorite summer interns yet! I love how entertaining your videos are and how you and everyone at HeR Interactive are like one big family! I hope that you go onto bigger and better things in your life!
That means so much to me Prairie! And you are right, we are like one big family and I loved being every part of it!
Who knows Indy, perhaps you’ll make a cameo appearance and come back for a visit. Until then stay sleuthy! :p We’ll miss you in the meantime.
Thanks for being such a great intern Indy! I wish you well with your future endeavours!♡
Bye, Indy. 🙁 My friends and I will miss you.
But who knows? Maybe, instead of being an intern, you can get a job there instead. 🙂 Cheer up 🙂
No, I’m not crying. Well… maybe a little.
Thanks for all the great work you did, Indy! It went by so fast. Hope to see you soon!
