Indy’s Last Post and Weekend Puzzle 310
June 10th, 2016
Hi guys, Little Jackalope is coming back to work next week. Since this will probably be the last time I post on the AS Blog I figured I would share with you guys the meaning of some of the last words of the parrot in Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor.
I am sure most of you know that in this game you can feed the parrot Lou Lou. Unfortunately if you feed her something toxic she will have a death scene and cause Nancy to use a second chance. All of her final sayings actually have fun hidden meanings. These are some of her possible last words that I remember.
- “Top of the world, ma!”- This is from White Heart
- “Rosebud…”- This is from Citizen Kane
- ” And do take care of Nelly!”- A reference to King Charles II of England’s last words, “Let not poor Nelly starve.”
- “Farewell, my friends. I go to glory.” -Isadora Duncan’s famous last words
- “Fight the power!”- This is from Nancy Drew: The Final Scene
- “I’m melting, I’m melting!”- This is from The Wizard of Oz
- “I’m coming Elizabeth!”- This is from Standford and Son
Here is your weekend puzzle. Can you find all 8 words?
Lastly we have a birthday this Sunday!

Hey Indy! I can’t believe this is your last post already…I’ve been enjoying all the tidbits about the games! Usually I’m kind of a coward when it comes to getting second chances, so I had totally forgotten about most of those Loulou quotes. The Citizen Kane one is my favorite, I think 😀 Do you have a favorite yourself? Anyway, I’ll miss seeing you around on the blog! I hope the rest of your internship is awesome, I’ll keep an eye out for your videos!
Hi Tsuki! This week has gone by fast for me too! I think my favorite quote from Lou Lou is “I’m coming Elizabeth!”.
Hi Indy, Thank you and all the HER interactive staff especally my friend Jeanne for the birthday greeting. I do like the weather a little cooler instead of very hot weather like we had on June 4 and 5th and not easy competing in the heat. Erin
Hey Indy! You had some really good posts! I like that you looked into all those quotes.
‘Rosebud’ was also used in Danger on Deception Island.
Thank you! And you’re right it totally was.
