Classic Names and Faces

Have you read any of the classic first edition blue Nancy Drew books? I have read a few, but I looked through an original copy of The Secret at Shadow Ranch (now called The Secret OF Shadow Ranch) and found this interesting page:

This shows that George was not originally called Georgia, but later in the book (not pictured) she states that her family gave up on having a boy and just stuck with the boy name George. Bess, however, is actually a nickname for Elizabeth. Here in this page it states that she is beautiful, but it is Nancy who has an “interesting” face. I simply found this interesting and just had to share these with you!

We have a couple of birthdays to celebrate!

Interesting, I have and read all of the original books, but I don’t remember reading this.

  4. I love how they say Nancy has an “interesting face”! I always thought although Bess was gorgeous, Nancy had an attitude that could be read on her face! 🙂
