“Yum!” Plastic Fish

As a small kid, I remember going to classic game arcades. You know, the ones with pinball, air hockey, basketball hoops, and small yellow circle guys moving around, eating dots and avoiding colorful ghosts? Yep, those kinds of arcades are hard to find today. When my sisters and I went to our favorite arcade as kids, we would go to our favorite game: “Whac a Croc!” which was like Whack-A-Mole! but with crocodiles that slid out of the water. It was great fun, and very exciting when you were waiting for random crocodiles to slip out with an open mouth full of teeth! We had to be quick to swing the foam mallet and smack each crocodile mouth closed so he would return to the water.

A similar game (but far less violent then smacking crocodile heads) was found in Danger on Deception Island. In Whale World you get to “feed” the Orca whales that leap out of the water with a plastic fish mallet. With each touch to the Orca mouth, it would squeak “Yum!” before falling back into the water. Too cute!

That was today’s Throwback Thursday. If you haven’t played this classic game, you can get the digital download for 50% off today using promo code DDI-50 at checkout.

My friends and I played Whac a Croc. but we all used our hands and we put one person to each croc. we always had the high score but sadly the ice rink had to get rid of it cause people pulled the croc’s out which broke the game
