Finding Nancy Drew Treasures: Vintage Books
This last weekend I took a trip to my favorite store in the world, Powell’s City of Books in Portland, Oregon. The book store is made up of several buildings all taking up an entire city block. The Rose Room is my favorite, because that’s where the Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books, as well as plenty of other books are located. I found some excellent treasures to add to my collection!
A first printing edition of my favorite Nancy Drew book “The Sign of the Twisted Candles” with the original dust cover (protected by another plastic jacket), the paperback book #139 “The Wedding Day Mystery” and a 1942 printing yellow back book of “The Quest of the Missing Map.” I was particularly excited about this last one since I’ve never seen this cover illustration before!
Do you collect Nancy Drew books? Which series do you like?
Oh! I nearly forgot! For some of you fellow sci-fi nerds out there, happy Back to the Future Day! We are celebrating with a sale on Secret of the Old Clock, which ends tonight!

I Love Back to the Future. I think it’s wonderful that Michael J. Fox’s Foundation is getting a portion of the ticket sales from the movie theatres 😀
I don’t collect the hardbacks but I have three ebook versions of different ND books. I’m currently reading the first book, The Secret of the Old Clock.
