Big News for Nancy Drew Fans
October 6th, 2015
Guess what? CBS is going to make a drama series of Nancy Drew! Check out the article here. The big highlights is that she’s 30 and a cop in New York. What are your thoughts on this? Who do you think would make a great Nancy Drew? (My first thought is for the actress Molly C. Quinn.)
On a side note, here’s something I’m working on:

Oh my gravy, LJ, do you watch Castle??? Although I’m not super excited for the show (how hard is it to just do a show off the books? :)), Molly Quinn as Nancy would certianly cause me to at least watch a the pilot!
Yes, I did see a number of Castle episodes, that’s how I thought Molly would be great. 🙂 But there are a lot of great actresses out there, too!
While I am quite excited to see how this turns out, I really wish that they would make a TV show about the original Nancy Drew that takes place in the 1930’s or 40’s. That’s just my opinion…
I wish I could make a movie of Nancy Drew that takes place in the 1940s. 😉
Hey Little Jackalope!
I think that this new Nancy Drew tv show sounds great. Although it will be interesting to see how Nancy will be potrayed as a woman in her 30s. I look to seeing it all the same. I hope that we get to see Bess, George and Ned. Maybe even the Hardy Boys.

I was excited except for the age 30 part. Sure it might be interesting for me at 35… but how great would it be for those of us with kids, to share a series with them that related more to their age group? If the series matched the Nancy Drew character in these games, held in these present times, I would be very happy. They could incorporate all the characters, including shared mysteries with the Hardy Boys. Maybe our kids will get so excited with the series, that they’ll want to pick up the books. With technology and the way times have changed, it makes me sad sometimes that alot of kids aren’t interested in the classic ND. It seems they have written a series aimed where they think it will do best- with the generations that grew up with ND.
