Monday Mysteries
It has been pretty quiet here today in the office. The artists are busy working on the environments for SEA. The production team is working on some early game builds, connecting logic flags together and making the game functional. The sales and marketing team is planning ahead on holiday sales and things. There isn’t much else to share…besides this fun Monday Mini-Mystery:
Chief McGinnis called out to Nancy as she was walking her dog, Togo, through the neighborhood. The police chief and other officers were surrounding Mrs. Fielder’s house with police tape and were taking pictures of a broken glass window. “What happened, Chief?” asked Nancy as she jogged up to the door. “There was a burglary not long ago,” said Chief McGinnis. “Mrs. Fielder’s jewelry was stolen along with her priceless vases. So far the team has not found any clues or fingerprints, but we did find this letter in Mrs. Fielder’s mailbox. It was not addressed to her and there is no envelope. It’s really odd, can you make anything of it?” Nancy took the written letter and read through it:
“Hello my dear! Last night’s dinner was splendid! That manicotti went well with the eggplant and endives. The seasoned tomatoes tasted ok, but I’d prefer avocado instead of tomato, next time. For tomorrow night’s dinner at 6, let’s have lettuce, the Iceberg kind, with steamed broccoli, radish, artichoke, rutabaga, and have roasted yams on the side. What do you think? I’ll see you then!”
Nancy handed the letter back to Chief McGinnis. “It looks like a typical note to a girlfriend or boyfriend, but I would recommend getting a few officers for a stake-out tomorrow night at 6pm. I know just where to catch the thieves.”
Where will the thieves meet up?
Can you solve this?
As for the weekend puzzle, it looks like you all identified the games from the images correctly! Here’s the solution (click on the image for a larger view):

The mini mystery is “at the library”
Can’t wait for sea!!!! Hope it comes out around may/june. Would be a great birthday present!!
Also, does the weekend puzzle correspond with SEA or was it just to keep us busy??
It has to do with SEA. 😉
Neat! I’m so excited for SEA!! 😛 And as for the mini mystery…if you take the first letter of all the food items, it spells out ‘meet at library’! LOL I can actually solve mysteries when they involve food….haha 😉
So the answer (for the weekend puzzle) is QUARTERS? Interesting… 🙂
Meet at library. It’s the first letters of all the vegetables
Hey, Miss LJ, if I can get a birthday shoutout, pretty please, my name is Kaylei, my birthday’s the 20th, I’ll be seventeen and my fave game is WAV, and my little sister Gwyendalynne will be turning 11 the 26th, and her fave game is also WAV, especially the Black Cat theme/idea of the game 🙂 Thanks so much for everything you do~*!!! 😀 ^u^ :))
Also, I believe that the thieves will be meeting at the LIBRARY, if my sleuthing is up to par 🙂 ;P ^u^
I believe I’ve already got you both on my calendar from your previous message. 😉
Answer to the mini-mystery: the library.
How I solved it: basically look at the names of the foods that are listed, and take the first letter from each one.
Lettuce
Iceberg (kind)
Broccoli
Radish
Artichoke
Rutabaga
Yams
Taking the first letter from every food mentioned in the message, you get this: “meet at library”
Thus, Nancy will catch the thieves at the library!
The library!!
Meet at library!
I know it’s still early, but can I get a birthday shoutout on January 4th? I’ll be turning 16. My favorite games are Alibi, Haunted Mansion, and Silent Spy.
You bet! However, we won’t be in the office the week before, so your shoutout might not show up on the blog until Monday the 5th. :/
As long as I get one I’m happy.
Hi Little Jackalope! if the answer to the weekend puzzle is quarters and SEA is about a ship does that have anything to do with pirate code having to do with quarter meaning mercy?
My lips are sealed. 😉
