Ignoring Signs

Today we take a moment to remember way when we played a now-old Nancy Drew game. Today’s feature game: Secret of the Scarlet Hand.

Did you ever pay attention to the signs that said “Do not touch” or “Keep out” or “DANGER”? I know I sure did not… haha. That’s totally a Nancy thing: to ignore the signs. Although, to be fair, sometimes she did ask for permission… kind of.

What sign or warning did you not heed in the games?

Well technically I saw one in Nancy Drew The Captive Curse which was in front of the gates which was “Warning do not pull lever” which gives you the feeling of pulling the lever what my point is everytime I see a sign while playing Nancy Drew Games I have to pull the lever or something that is written not to do in the sign!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I have a question. what would you go to college for to work at Her Interactive? computer and game design? ( is that a thing?lol ) thanks!

Haha, my feelings exactly! Nancy never pays attention to signs, and neither do I (in the games, of course!)
Makes a cool ND slogan: Ignoring signs. Its a Nancy Drew thing. ๐Ÿ˜€

In The Captive Curse, when your down in the glass shop, I kept ignoring the Caution sign and forgot to pull the glass protective guard and kept ending up frying my eyes. Ha! Or when in The Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, when you have to find the 3 boards to fix the wall underneath the stairs, and I just kept ignoring it and hearing Nancy scream as you hear the floor splintering all around you. Or in Last Train to Blue Moon canyon when you have to turn the wheel to activate the Gas to travel through the pipes and before I have the pipes connected, I’d twist the wheel. Also when the Emergency Brake is pulled, you can hear Nancy hit the brake and it sounds like she actually had hit the brake. The grunt, the moan, it was amazing. Tell Lani Minella that she is fantastic as Nancy Drew. I watched on YouTube where she was on an interview and it said she had voiced in over 500 character voices. That’s incredible. And she can voice from an infant to an elder person and it sounds awesome. Anyway, there’s tons more DO NOT TOUCH moments. But I liked these. Especially the Emergency Brake one.

In I.C.E on my first day I misses two meals and ended up restarting the game.

Haha I never listened to the signs either!:P In fact, it made me happy because the main thing I’ve learned from ND is that if there is a ‘Keep Out!’ sign, you know somebody’s hiding something LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

Hmmm I agree with the first comment from Fares about the ‘Do not pull lever’ sign in the Captive Curse!
On a side note, LJ, I’m a Communications major about to transfer to San Jose State, and I was wondering if that degree applies to any careers affiliated with HER. (If I were to look after I graduate.)Because I’m in looove with your company!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Kimi! A communications major might be helpful in the marketing department, but since we are a game company, it really helps to have some art or design and computer experience, too. ๐Ÿ™‚
