Contests Queued

So we’ve decided to run a contest next month. I can’t really release any details (mostly cause we don’t have them yet.) I was hoping I could solicit you all into giving me some input on the contests we run. In the past there was a gamut of contests, from trivia sweepstakes to essay challenges, we’ve had some great variety.

What was your favorite contest? and why?
What would you like to see in the future?

You can post your answers as comments here or start a thread on the MB if you feel so inclined. 😛 Who knows, maybe this new contest will be right up your alley.

Hasta luego!

The essay ones. Trivia ones are easy and random. Essays demand more effort and they’re more fun.

I think the best contests are either trivia or mathematical, I don’t know if you could do a math Nancy Drew contest but I thought I’d ask. The essays stink.

I love all the contest you give! 🙂

For the second one, i wish you guys allowed more winners, rather than one winner :/

My favorite contest would have to be the scavenger hunt from Resorting to Danger. I think scavenger hunts are always fun to do!

I like art contests! The riddle contest was AMAZING!! Essays are okay (I do like writing) but it’s more fun to have something …more creative? that makes us think. I know I had a BLAST with the riddle one, so it’s my favorite. Trés Nancy Drew, no? ^.^

Okay, I’m the one with the math idea, and I had another one. Design a game cover or something.

As far as the winners, there should be more and what they win should be exclusive, can’t be bought on the site. Maybe a autographed poster. Every worker pick a screenshot from a game, signs it and there arranged on a poster….

I think you guys should do a trivia contest. One that included questions from the books, as well from the games. And shouldn’t be easy. They should be kind of difficult. Ones that would take a lot of sleuthing to find the answer. Thanks for asking our opinons! I would really like to do this contest!

Hmm, I’ve never really participated in one of your contests before. . *gasp!:O* But if I were going to, it would need to be something more about creativity, rather than math, or research, or puzzles, etc.
But that’s just me. 🙂 I’m not exactly sure how to fit that in with Nancy Drew, though, lol
And I agree with Anonymous, it would be nice if you guys could pick more than 1 – 3 winners. At least maybe 5 instead? Yeah.
    Rock on, HeR! 😀

I think the essay contests are the best.
The definitely require more effort and you have to be a true nancy drew fan to write a good essay. 🙂

also, on the trivia contests you can easily just google the answers. pretty simple.

You all are totally awesome! Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I’ve always been a supporter of “creative” contests (versus sweepstakes drawings) and it’s nice to see that they’re well received. I’m working on the next contest for January (shh! it’s a secret) and you’ve all given me some great ideas.

I’ve only did one contest and that was a trivia, and while those are easy, I think the essay contests would be the best.

Quick shout out: getting your picture in the game is the BEST PRIZE EVER. Honestly, nothing else could ever be as awesome than knowing YOU are in a great new ND game that every fan will play and enjoy! ^.^ I haven’t won yet, so I hope there’ll be lots more opportunities!

its so hard for people that haven’t played all the games to win. like “the number of footpronts in waverly + the number of shells on the beach in ransom”. Thats why i can’t figure them out.
