Happy National Video Games Day Weekend!
Happy Sunday and Happy National Video Games Day Weekend everyone!
Today is your last day to take advantage of our National Video Games Day Weekend sale where you can get 40% off all Nancy Drew Games with code GAMEDAY. In honor of this weekend, I would like to highlight some of my personal favorite Nancy Drew Games streamers! It is never a dull moment at HeR, but on the occasion that I find myself wanting some background noise, I often put one of these fabulous gamers on. I also used to watch many of these streamers when I wasn’t near a PC and was craving the nostalgia only a 2000’s Nancy Drew game can bring.
This streamer will always live in a very special place in our hearts. Many of you know her as Little Jackalope. She just posted a walkthrough of the classic fan-favorite Stay Tuned for Danger. Calina, alias Little Jackalope, streams many of her videos live and engages with the chat sharing lots of tidbits and trivia only Calina could know! If you aren’t able to join her in a live stream, have no fear! She posts the videos on her Youtube page and regularly uploads shorter videos explaining how to pass particularly tricky parts of the games and some of the harder puzzles. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t use her walkthroughs to help with the Midnight in Salem ghost hunt! Calina is so much more than a beloved member of the Nancy Drew community. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met, loves sushi nights with family and friends, and is always cooking up something delicious.
2. Arglefumph: The Nancy Drew Dude
Michael, alias Arglefumph or Mr. September (if you know you know), has been recording Nancy Drew and other computer game walkthroughs and streams since 2007. I remember first stumbling upon his Youtube page back when he was excitedly reviewing Warnings at Waverly Academy early since HeR sent him a copy before the release date. Besides Nancy Drew walkthroughs he makes many listicle-style videos ranking the best games, highlighting Nancy’s second chance scenes, and even reviews the classic Nancy Drew books. When you watch Arglefumph stream his (almost annual) Nancy Drew Mega Marathon, it feels like you are playing with an old friend. Besides being one of the first Nancy Drew streamers, Michael is a family man who is slowly becoming the gaming world’s Bob Ross. He has also written a book or two himself and enjoys creating text-based computer games in his free time!
Nancy Drew Walkthroughs’ Youtube channel is just that! Huw has built a vast collection of Nancy Drew walkthroughs, streams, and vlogs about the topic in a relatively short amount of time. It’s hard to see how he can find time to stream games, record a Nancy Drew podcast, and work on a small volunteer-based mystery game of his own. You can also find Huw by Legofreak689 on Twitch.
4. *Submitted by a fan* JessPlayin
Now and then we have fans who reach out and tell us about their favorite streamers or a streamer themselves will let us know about their upcoming schedule. JessPlayin is the perfect example of this. We have had a few fans reach out and share with us Jess’s Nancy Drew games tradition every Sunday. Most recently we got a message from Tiffany telling us “I follow a streamer on Twitch named JessPlayin who plays Nancy Drew games every Sunday at 3 pm EST. She’s building a community of people who love Nancy Drew and adventure games!”
I want to start by warning everyone that this stream has some profanity and would probably be PG-13 rated, however, Sean, Sean, and Leigh’s stream of Shadow at the Water’s Edge had me doubled over laughing! It is not often you see someone else struggle with a puzzle just as much as you. In this case, I think it took them something like 30+ minutes to solve the massive monogram puzzle at the end. It is always a fun time when you watch streamers who don’t know the brand inside and out play a Nancy Drew game for the first time and struggle through just like when you first discovered the games. The boxes may say they are for 10 and up but I am way “up” and still need spoilers!
Honorable Mentions
A few honorable mentions come to mind right away like Vote4Holt and AdventureGameFan8 who make walkthroughs with no commentary. I really enjoy these on days when I want to just put a game on in the background and listen to my favorite characters solve a mystery.
Did I leave anyone off the list? Who are your favorite streamers and walkthrough creators? Let me know in the comment section below!

*edited on 9/13 to reflect a streamers name change*
Hey! This is such a minor thing, but Bill actually changed their name to Leigh a while ago! Just thought I’d let you know thanks for the shoutout by the way!!
Thank you so much for that correction. I should have known. Will update the post to reflect their name change.
That’s all good, thank you!! 😀
I’m a fan of the Nancy Drew games and not to sound annoying but when is the 34th game due to be released since Her Interactive said that it wouldn’t take 4 years like it had for Midnight in Salem? Again i’m just wondering
Hi Mel, I love to hear from fans you are definitely not annoying! Unfortunately, I don’t have any more news to share on game 34 other than we are planning on having one. Hopefully, I will be able to share something new soon, when that day comes it will be shared to our social media sites, the website, and the ASB. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter as that is one of the first places we like to share news!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the shout out and kind words featuring my channel! <3 I am honored to be listed among these other legends of gaming videos. There are sooo many more streamers and YouTubers playing Nancy Drew games and it makes me so happy to be a part of this amazing community!
I actually do think you missed out on some good ones! halfmoonjoe, Gab Smolders, and GameGrumps all do ND walkthoughs on youtube! halfmoonjoe and Gab Smolders specifically have been posting ND walkthroughs rather recently as well 🙂
Ahh Gab Smolders! Yes, I know quite a few people in our office who absolutely love her videos!
