Convention (And Weekend Puzzle #351)

I’m excited to say that a few of us (myself included) on the HeR Interactive team will be going to the 2017 Nancy Drew “Haunted Maine” Convention! I will be filming, taking pictures, interviewing people, and posting to social media all the fun events.

Nancy Drew Mystery Adventure Convention

Registration is long over for this year, but will I get to see you there? Learn more about the Nancy Drew conventions here and start planning to go to the next one!

Will we possibly be getting in updates on MID at the convetion?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Paige! No, the convention is centered around the Nancy Drew books more so than the games. If and when we have news about the new game, we will announce it here on our web site first.

Just wondering, how many hidden number 13s are on the Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon cover? I have found at least six of them and I want to know if I found them all 🙂

  5. Deb B says:

Those of us who cannot be there are hoping you’ll be sharing some photos (and/or videos) of your convention experience with us! Have fun! What a thrill!

Sorry for so many random questions, but I just finished the Final Scene for the first time but I never got into Simone’s pda and I never heard the press conference? Also I played Beat the Magician a lot of times after winning and it never broke? I just watched Arglefumph’s review after finishing the game and I noticed that these never happened for me, yet I was able to complete the game? Is there any reason why?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi again! This happened because you did some things in different orders. If you replay the game and revisit many of those places you may get to see these. The reason you were able to finish the game is because these are not required to solve the mystery.

  7. Huw Miller says:

Secrets Can Kill! Remastered or Original? hahah or both?

    • Em says:

Probably just remastered, since the twitch parties are a marketing tool and they don’t sell the original any more

      • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Em, unfortunately, the original SCK can’t run well on newer operating systems and computers – that is why we do not sell SCk. We don’t want to sell a game that won’t work. :/ Also, the Twitch parties are not just a marketing tool. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate the games for each individual bit of fun that they are, and especially to enjoy the community around Nancy Drew together. It’s a great opportunity to party with everyone around a shared interest.

        • Em says:

I understand why you don’t sell it any more. It works fine on my Windows 10, but selling it again probably wouldn’t be worth all the trouble some other people might have.
I wasn’t trying to sound cynical about the Twitch parties.

  8. Tessy says:

Can I get a birthday shout out not this Thursday but the next Thursday i am turning 31 years old

  9. Tessy says:

LJ did you see my birthday shoutout request

  10. Cole says:

You say that the game is delayed because learning Unity is taking longer than planned, but the game was also outsourced so wouldn’t a company that already knew the program be selected? Why was the game even outsourced in the first place.

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Cole! These are good questions, but I can’t answer these just yet. If and when we have behind the scenes details and stories to share about the production or business side of things, then I will.

  11. Sarah says:

Hi LJ! Could I get a birthday shoutout on September 16th? I’ll be turning 20! My favorite games are TRT, SSH, SHA, CUR, and SEA. Thank you 🙂

  12. Em says:

    Hi LJ,
I just noticed the “top 5” links in the menu, and i was curious, what determines which games go there? Sales? Positive feedback?
Also, i was surprised that #21 is in the top 5 classic games, as i never really considered anything newer than say, #15 or older, to be “classic”. What do yall consider makes a game classic?

    Thank you for reading 🙂

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Em, the answers to these questions are too long to respond to. But to sum it up, we choose what the best top 5 games belong in each category based on a lot of factors. When we say “classic” we mean the mystery, not the release date. A classic mystery to us means a simple mystery: someone needs help, something odd is going on, a regular crime is committed, etc. It doesn’t relate to curses, spooks, supernatural and is more thinking- or character-based rather than action and adventure. Think Nancy Drew books with more puzzles and interrogating, and exploring for clues.

  13. Susan Dugger says:

how long are you going to drag out not tell us about the mid info people are getting ma, i even has midnight in salem getting worried.

  14. SL says:

Honestly, what kind of company doesn’t know what’s going on with its own game? The responses being given on Facebook to our questions just contain empty words which is pretty sad for a company that clearly used to love updating fans of the series.

We know it isn’t your fault LJ, but seriously the “powers that be” really need to take a look at how they’re handling this before they lose the rest of the fan base.

    • Anonymous says:

It should be more than obvious at this point that “the powers that be” couldn’t be less interested in the ND adventure-game series fan base. “The powers that be” might as well have destroyed the adventure-game series, spat on it, and ground it under its heel, because that is essentially what has happened.

    • Sophia K. R. A. says:

“Honestly, what kind of company doesn’t know what’s going on with its own game?”

I bet LJ has answered this question about 1,000,000,000,000 times.
The marketing people don’t make the game. They are told what to tell the fans. The people who are making the game obviously know what’s going on with the game. Like DUH.
      Just be patient.

      • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Sophia, we are still working on Midnight in Salem (MID), but at this time do not have information or a time frame to share with everyone. In the meantime, please remember to be kind and respectful of fellow commenters. Thank you!

Ghost dogs of moon lake lego set needs more supporters everyone should tell your friends they are already at 970 almost at 1000 but they still need more! Plus, everyone stop hating on MID. Her interactive has always been the best and they really care about us, just let them take their time. After all, we are the ones who asked for “expansive environments, better visuals, more compelling story lines, longer game play, more characters and more dangerous situations”. So let’s be patient and when MID comes out, we’ll be glad we did 🙂
