Nancy’s Placeholder

I went rummaging through some archive files, looking for something specific, when an idea struck me. Remember in Alibi in Ashes, the Police suspect board?

Well, I am always amused at the clever ways we “hide” Nancy… but I was curious what was behind the sticky note as Nancy’s placeholder. Behold! Our artists just used the model for Bess Marvin and changed a bit of coloring around the edges of the sticky note to make it more “Nancy.” The top part of her head has been changed to more strawberry blonde or red, and her baby blue shirt has been changed to a periwinkle sort of blue.

Sorry if I really ruined your intrigue for you, but I thought this was fun. 😉

    Hey LJ!

You didn’t ruin the intrigue for in any way LJ! Its so fun and its really interesting. I like learning these little tid bits about the Nancy Drew games. Besides, Alibi in Ashes is one of my favorite Nancy Drew games of all time.

Hey LJ, I know you can’t comment on how far along you guys are with MID, or on its release date. But I was just wondering, if MID went full force into production tomorrow (I’m assuming it’s not HeR’s priority right now), how long do you think it would take to be finished?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Alex, I can’t say for sure because I’m not aware of how long it takes for an Adventure style point-and-click game to be made on Unity (the new engine we are using.) However, when we made our games with our proprietary engine (we called it Lua) it took 1-1.5 years to make, start to finish. And that’s when we are working on 2 games at a time. It’s really hard to gauge the different approach on a new process. Sorry!

  6. Make Nancy Drew Games Great Again says:

It’s been forever. They bought the company, fired the old nancy….. we want our games!!!! When are we getting more games!!! I want to solve mysteries and catch bad guys. Is that too much to ask for!?!?!?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello! As far as I know, HeR Interactive has not been bought by anyone. If you are looking to solve more mysteries after you finished the current 32 Nancy Drew ones, why don’t you look for other great mystery games out there? There are more great ones by fellow game companies!

    • Gnillet (the real one) says:

“Make Nancy Drew Games Great Again” I’ve been looking around for similar mystery games in the point-and-click style, and so far, here are all the ones I’ve come up with. (I haven’t played any of them yet, so I don’t know how good they are.)

      -Sherlock Holmes
      -Miss Clue
      -Jenny LeClue (Not out yet?)
      -Kathy Rain
      -Ben Jordan

Haha, for a moment I was thinking: Wow, Nancy looks a lot like Bess!

Then I read the rest of what you said lol!

  8. Jackson says:

    Hi LJ,

Will you please 🙂 do a Twitch stream of the Shadow Ranch app. It is the only game I never played because I had android and now it is not available.

I would love to see what it is like, and your TBT FB post made me very curious!!!!

    Thank you!!!!

  9. Sophia K. R. A. says:

That’s hilarious! I was wondering what was behind there!

  10. Tracy says:

I mean, doesn’t Nancy have strawberry blonde hair though?

    • Little Jackalope says:

I think that is what they were trying to aim for, yes. But Nancy has had different names for her hair color: blonde, strawberry blonde, titian, red.
