Walkthroughs (And Weekend Puzzle #316)
Back in the late 1990s-early 2000s, going online to find a hint or solution was not as popular as it is now. If you were even lucky to have internet in your house back then, too. Sometimes, purchasing a Strategy Guide or asking your fellow friends for help was your only way to get past a difficult or confusing part of a game.
Today, we are internet-using professionals! (Or… mostly.) >_< And it is super easy to type in the search bar the name of your Nancy Drew game, and the words “walkthrough”. Or if you were specific, type in what part you were stuck on.
The search results will instantly turn up a list of options for you to peruse. One of the most popular and user-friendly bit of help is actually video walkthroughs. We are lucky to have so many great fans who play the Nancy Drew games — and they help fellow players by explaining how to solve puzzles and get past parts of the games. Arglefumph is perhaps the longest-running fan at doing this, but we have several up and coming fans (or long term gamers who just begun to record) sharing their gaming on YouTube.
One notable fan is Huw. His channel on YouTube is called “Nancy Drew Walkthroughs”, which is pretty easy to remember! Check out his growing channel here and be sure to subscribe so that you can have the walkthrough videos at your fingertips if you ever get stuck! This is his channel trailer here:
Keep an eye out on his channel for a fun interview video coming soon!
Here’s your weekend puzzle, enjoy!

What’s going on with MID? Is it the last game?
Hi Carolyn! We have no new news to share right now about MID. We certainly don’t plan on it being the last game, though!
We investigate in October!!! Is MID coming in October???
We have no current release date for MID. Stay sleuthy!
Do you guys do contracted work because I’m going to school to develop mobile apps for phones and I would love to be contracted through you guys one day?
Hi Ben, we sometimes hire contract artists or contract companies to share some work with, but at this time we aren’t hiring any single developers. Keep an eye on our Jobs page in the future, though!
Thanks for answering my question
I also have a YouTube Chanel.
Hi LJ
I looked at that guys youtube channel and on the “about” page it says “for business inquiries please email”
Did you guys set up this channel for marketing and are you paying him and telling him what to say?
I prefer Arglefumph because it is not a business channel but a fan channel 🙂
Thank you!
Hi Jackson, no, we did not set up Huw’s YouTube channel He is a another fan who did all his videos on his own.
The option for “For business inquiries please email” is something that you can choose whether or not to have on your channel. It would’ve just shown my email address anyways, but no hahahaha I’m not being paid by HeR! I have been asked multiple times if I secretly work for HeR though…
