Girls Who Code and Our CEO
August 24th, 2016
That sounds like the name of a mystery, heh heh. Anyway, hey guys! So did you know that our CEO got to speak at a Girls Who Code graduation in Redmond, Washington last week? Here’s a picture of her with some of the girls from the program:
Way to go, Penny!
If you don’t know what Girls Who Code is, it’s a national nonprofit organization in the US that has after school clubs and summer programs to teach girls coding. It’s really cool, and they’ve partnered with a lot of awesome companies and organizations in the tech industry, even up to big players like Facebook and Pixar. You can check them out here.

That is so cool!
What did Penny do before being the CEO? I remember seeing her name in the credits of older games, just not under CEO.
Hi, Kit! Penny has been on the Board of Directors for a number of years before becoming CEO. -Tess
I wish that was around when I was younger! Do you or Penny know of any similar programs for say a 30-year old? My coding is advanced in Excel but otherwise… I would love to learn how to code for the gaming industry. If I lived in the vicinity, I would love to help develop the next Nancy Drew games! I’ve been hooked since the first game came out. Keep up the good work everyone!
Hi, Amanda! There are hundreds of programs that exist for teaching adults coding. A lot of them cost money, but if you’re looking for a place to start for free, you can check out several different options here. -Tess
Thanks Tess!
You’re welcome. Have fun! -Tess
Keep up the fantastic work and continue to inspire us all!
