Behind the Scenes Decorating — Not Really
Hello savvy sleuths! I’m sorry we haven’t had many updates or even blog posts recently. The reason is that we are experiencing minor internet troubles while we are updating a few things behind the scenes. But no worries! We shall be back to normal by tomorrow or Thursday.
I was totally going to post a picture of some re-decorating I did near my desk. It is a picture of a bookshelf. With someone on it. Clue: they someone knocks books off shelves. Anyway, our internet trouble will not allow me to add new pictures to the web site at the moment, so I promise to post the picture first chance I get this week.
We have a birthday to celebrate!

I’ve been a fan since I was 9-10 years old (about 15 years). It’s hard to adequately convey to a company the sentimental value their product may have. It may sound ridiculous but Nancy Drew had a large part of my childhood. From the original yellow back books, to the Case Files to the Super Mysteries and in the midst of all that, the wonderful world of Nancy Drew games. For nearly long as I can remember, I’ve waited every year, twice a year for the anticipated adventure. And between that, checking the website for blog posts, updates and fun news. I don’t post on the Message Boards but I do check Game Rumors and Suggestions daily for any information someone may have come across. From my observations on FaceBook and the Boards, about 95% of the HER fan-base is young adults like myself who have grown up with the games and will pass them on to their children, should they be interested. Every year we’ve known what to expect and we’ve been happy with that. Sadly, as of late, the entire company is rapidly changing. The format, voice actress and even the level of communication has completely vanished. Rather than being focused on providing the product that drew the original fan-base and allowed HER to grow as a company, it appears the only motivation now is financial. The original CEO knew how to keep it fan focused and based on the original, wonderful concept of Nancy Drew. Whoever is in charge now certainly does not appear to care what customers they lose, despite the fact that without the original customers your following will go down. Despite my comments, I do appreciate all the time and effort that has been put year after year to keep us happy. Really, all I’m requesting is that the communication level improve. Just tell us SOMETHING, even if you’ll have to admit there is not going to be any future games. Don’t let us speculate, be honest with us beyond ‘stay tuned and stay sleuthy’. Thank you for taking the time to read this and again, thank you for all the time and effort put into creating a wonderful product and putting up with demanding fans 🙂

Your social media person should study other games social media sites for tips. The best ones share news, even of delays or bugs, in a way that is natural and open, and fans stay really positive even with bad news!. The stay sleuthy cut and paste thing is really frustrating and almost cruel.
Hi Jackson, we don’t mean to be cruel. We really don’t have any info to share at this point for Midnight in Salem. Changes are hard for fans to accept, but when we have news, good or bad, fans will react in many different ways. We try to be kind and respectful of fans as best as we can.
I feel the same way. I have only been a fan of Nancy Drew games for a couple years, but the changes are enormous, and it is clear that everything is being done for profit. Herinteractive used to be an indie game company, and the fans liked it that way, but when the new CEO came in, Lani Minella was fired for NO reason at all, and the games just won’t be the same anymore. Nobody really cared if Lani Minella sounded older than Nancy Drew; it didn’t matter. Lani Minella’s voice acting was perfect for the character and nobody can replace Nancy Drew. Why does everything in this era have to be about money? Did Donald Trump purchase this company?
As far as the book shelf thing, I assume you’re talking about Iggy. Right?
