Nancy Drew Origins
It’s been a few days since I have written! This is because we were in Iowa City, Iowa for the Nancy Drew convention. We posted several pictures to our social media sites, but here are a few highlights below, too.
Here the sleuths and Her Interactive donated Nancy Drew books and games to the local library:
We went to Ladora, Iowa, the hometown of Mildred Wirt Benson (author of 23 of the Nancy Drew books) where we went to the bank. The bank is now a converted French bistro!
We also got to go inside Millie’s childhood home in Ladora! Seen here is a picture from her high school graduation, her class ring, her little shoes, a book she owned, a picture of her and her older brother, Melville, and a scrapbook her mother made for her. It was super awesome to be so privileged to walk in the steps of Millie!
We have some belated birthdays to celebrate from this past weekend!

Wow! I’m super jealous! I’d love to have gone to the convention, and I’d love to have all those books, haha! And are those original boxed games of SCK-MHM with the flap and everything? I’ve always been really curious about what the early games say on the insides of the boxes because they’re not easy to find anymore. (That would actually be a really cool blog post come to think of it!) Also, is that a Special Edition of SAW??? Even more jealous now lol. It’s the only Special Edition I don’t have 🙁
The games that were donated were the standard DVD cases. 🙂
So cool! Wish I could have gone… So awesome that Nancy is now 85…O_O

Wow that is so cool that you got to go to the Nancy Drew convention! That’s a bit too far away for me so thank you for posting pictures.
Also, I’m turning 17 on May 20th so I was wondering if i could have a birthday shout out?
Birthday shout-out? You bet!
