Nancy Drew Language (And Weekend Puzzle #257)

Since playing the Nancy Drew games, have you added any new words to your vocabulary? Words like “investigate” or “snoop” or “solve” or perhaps even… “rude?” (Minette says this like it means something good in Danger by Design.)

Of course, there are also classic quotes from memorable characters, like “Don’t let the turkeys get you down!” or “Whales rule!” or even “I’d like some Pinky and Perky, please.” I often find myself saying some lines out loud… and then people look at me funny ’cause I’m expecting them to get my inside joke… but they have no clue what I was talking about. XD *Sigh* Nancy Drew problems…

Here’s your weekend puzzle! Enjoy! (Click on the image for a larger view.)

OH MY GOSH yes, LJ, I can relate….I have that problem almost every day..lol 😛 And yes, I have expounded on my detective vocabulary…I now regularly use ‘sleuth’ ‘solve’ ‘snoop’ ‘intrigue’ and ‘mystery’ in my language 😉 Aaand I quote Nancy all the time… but most of the things I say are pretty philosophical for a guy..er, girl, wearing boots. Haha okay sorry lol I do things like that a lot 😛

Ya, ever since playing Nancy Drew games (I started when I was like, six because i played with my older siblings :))
I have known those words 🙂 I have used rude in that way before lol! Ya that happens to me a lot, a crack a joke, or quote some character, and people are just like okkk… One time my brother caught me quoting Nancy Drew- that was pretty funny. XP Yes, sigh, I do not know anyone that is as Nancy Drew crazy as me sadly….

My favorite quote is from DED, from one of my favorite ever phone friends. “If you’re under 50, why are you leaving me a message instead of a text? Oldsters, do what you gotta do!”

My all-time favorite quote is from Ghost Dogs! Red asks Nancy “You smoke?” And she replies “Only when I’m on fire!” I have been waiting for years (literally) to use that line in a conversation, and recently I was able to.. everybody cracked up!! It was soooo much fun!!!
