The SPY Release

Hm, looks as if no one found the secret message in yesterday’s post. πŸ˜‰ Just trying to keep your minds alert and detective-level observant. Since we are starting to talk about the latest game, now, Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy, we may be dropping vague hints here and there for you to piece together and ponder over.

We have a an announcement to make! The very first (or should I say second, since the Teaser trailer was really the first) clue to the 29th game is the revealing of the release dates:

Mark your calendars! The Silent Spy awaits! Ooo…merchandise quote idea…! Brilliant!

Today I continue my play-through of the game, and my notebook has several pages of scribbles and scratches, notes, and clues. Trust me, you may want to get a new, small notebook for this upcoming mystery!

Testing on this game will continue for several more weeks, and many people here in the office are part of that testing. We have our Lead Tester and two guest testers continuously working on finding and reporting bugs, and there are other members like me who are playing through with fresh eyes and more perplexed minds. If the game gets buggy, we can cheat around it until the bugs are fixed, since we have a secret in-the-office-only reference for each puzzle and a walk through to help us along the right path.

Cathedral. At the moment I cannot tell you what this means, but I CAN tell you what it is not. Someone guessed a board game or a mini-game. Nope. It’s not like Raid! in The Captive Curse. Not a game at all. Guess again.

Cathedral… Origin, Middle English, an abbreviation of cathedral church: the church that contains the bishop’s throne…

  7. I saw it! I only saw it because I’m on the mobile version. Otherwise I wouldn’t have seen it. Haha!
Tell ya what, I wasn’t expecting that to be posted today! When you said small announcement I thought maybe the color scheme, not the dates for releases!!:D what a huge surprise!

Two more Fridays…? Hmmm, I’m really looking forward to seeing the box art for this one! I’ve had a few ideas of my own for this one, can’t imagine how many ideas have been passed around the office.

Super excited and super nervous for SPY! I think this game could easily ruin people’s idea of the Drew family.

Hi Little Jackalope! πŸ™‚ Reading about your testing of the new game is really interesting! πŸ™‚ I’ve been enjoying the Nancy Drew – and Hardy Boys! – games for along with family and friends. πŸ™‚ Thanks to HeR Interactive for such fun games like: Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Danger on Deception Island, Haunted Carousel, Treasure on the Tracks, The Final Scene, Secret of Shadow Ranch, Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, and Secret of the Old Clock. Btw, please more Hardy Boys! πŸ™‚
I had a couple of questions, since I’m always interested in details from the main series of Nancy Drew books, that I was hoping someone on here could let me know the title or titles of the books where Nancy’s mother’s actual name is mentioned? I know it’s Kate in the upcoming game #29, The Silent Spy. Several of my friends and I have been trying to find out, but it’s not in any books we’ve read/have access to – which include quite a few but not all in the Nancy Drew Mysteries (#1-175), Girl Detective, Nancy Drew Diaries, and Clue Crew. And also, what books mention car accident or illness? Thanks in advance for any help on this – really appreciate it! πŸ™‚

  15. I found your secret message this time πŸ™‚ “Two More Fridays”, does that mean we will be seeing another announcement coming very soon? I have my fingers crossed for the cover art release, but I would be content with the color scheme πŸ™‚ Putting the game page up would be even neater!

Will there be a special contest for all the people who pre-order the game? You know, like how those hundred people won a mask for Ghost of Thornton Hall?

    -Lee (or Liana)

  24. ND/AliceRoyLvr says:

You’re wrong about nobody finding the hidden message the other day. They have also found this post’s hidden message. Try checking the message boards. πŸ™‚

  25. SiennaRose says:

@Ann: In the books Nancy’s mother’s first name is never mentioned. Her maiden name was Austin. In the French NDs her name was Elise Beauchamp (sp?). HIH!

And 2 more Mondays??!! Does this mean something will happen in 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays or something will happen in 2 Fridays, and another thing will happen in 2 Mondays?? I am so EXCITED!!!

  26. William D says:

Um,ND/Aliceroylvr, she does read them. She has to approve them…

  27. Anonymous says:

hmm new notebook, do you think they’ll have a new notebook design for recording clues in the game?

  28. Anonymous says:

i wonder what would happen if at least some of the testers didn’t use walkthroughs, it seems like some of those eggs and awards would be impossible without one. i like it better when they make sense to what’s going on in the game, like the lock picking egg in phantom of Venice.

  29. Ann says:

@SiennaRose – thank you so much for the info! πŸ™‚ Really appreciate it! πŸ™‚ I’ll let my other friends know who were also very curious. πŸ™‚
