ISDX Error

This error message is displayed during installation:
ISDX_ERR_BADWINDOWSVERSION-entry not found in the string table
The ISDX error occurs when the game installer is trying to install an older version of DirectX over a newer version.
During game installation on the Screen Setup Type, change the default selection from “Yes, install DirectX” to “No, I will install DirectX myself.”
After installing the game, download and install the DirectX Update Utility from this link.

Hi, We are having trouble opening the game Message in a Haunted House in Windows XP. We have loaded it and it appears that all files got loaded. We have upgraded the ISDTX file also. It still does not open. This is the error message we get when we click on the icon for the game:
ERROR – incorrect path to INI file – C:\NancyDrew\Message in a Haunted Mansion\Game.INI

Same thing is happening. I selected that I will install it later and now it is asking me to insert disk 1. I bought the digital copy. I am getting really annoyed…

I clicked on the link provided and ran the set-up only for it to tell me that the latest version of DirectX is installed but the game will still not work.
