Game Screen Flickers or Flashes

If the game screen flashes off and on, flickers, or characters appear and flicker in front of the game screen, it means the currently installed video card driver may not fully support DirectX.

Press the Alt and Tab keys together (Alt + Tab) several times. This toggles the game screen on and off. Doing this may minimize or eliminate the problem.

If the problem continues, try updating your video driver. For information on how to do this, check our Graphics Problems help page.

I am currently having this problem with Tomb of the Lost Queen (and I think this is the *only* game I have experienced this with). If I play the game in “Windowed” mode rather than full screen there is no flickering. (Alt + Tab did not help me.)

I am having the same issue with Tomb of the Lost Queen. No issues with any other Nancy Drew games.Screen flickers on full screen, but not on windowed screen.

I have been trying to replay my ND game Tomb of the lost queen. Originally I thought it was my cd that was bad so I bought a new hard copy. However, the flickering is still happening. I tired the things recommended and nothing so far has worked. I have noticed that if I change the game window to windowed it doesn’t seem to have issues but when its full-screen lots of flickering. I have a window 10 Alienware computer. Please help this is the only game that has problems.
