Can't Save or Load Games
If saved games don't show game progress, won't load, or were accidentally overwritten, a failed installation or corrupted file may be preventing games from saving correctly.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game should fix corrupted files. Before uninstalling, copy your saved game folder onto the Desktop. Then delete the saved game folder. The saved game folder is found in one of these locations:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Setting\Username\My Documents\Nancy Drew\[Game Title]
Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Users\Username\Documents\[Game Title]
Otherwise, check in C:\Program Files\Nancy Drew\[Game Title]
or C:\Nancy Drew\[Game Title]
After copying your saved game to the Desktop, uninstall and reinstall the game.
Start a new game, play for a minute or two and then Save your game. Load this game to verify the Save feature is working. If it is, copy your old saved games from the Desktop into the new saved game folder.
If it still doesn't work, then the old saved game file may be corrupted and no longer usable. Unfortunately, if a saved game is overwritten or corrupted, it cannot be recovered. We recommend saving multiple games early and often.
