Pre-Order Information

What is a Pre-Order?

Pre-order means that you are ordering a game in advance of its actual retail release date – basically reserving your game. All pre-orders placed through Her Interactive will receive the BONUS EDITION of the game. Your pre-order will not be available (digital) or shipped (physical) until approximately one (1) week prior to the retail store release date (please see game page for specific dates/details). **Physical Bonus Edition game supply is limited and available only while supplies last.**

Why Should I Pre-Order?

The main reason that customers pre-order through Her Interactive is to receive the Bonus Edition of the game. The Bonus Edition includes in-game extras that are not available in the standard edition sold after the pre-order period on our website and through online portals (Amazon, Steam, etc.) or retail stores (Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.).

The bonus features are part of the game, some of which can be accessed during the game while others can only be achieved by finishing the game, and earning awards.

BONUS features are unique to each game and can include:

– Phone charms for Nancy’s cell phone (in-game)
– Mini-games on Nancy’s cell phone (in-game)
– A secret 13th Award in addition to the 12 standard game awards
– Unlockable special features when all 13 Awards are attained
– Game-specific additional content

The bonus content is the incentive for fans to pre-order, not because they will receive the game early.  Receiving the game before it comes out in stores is NOT a pre-order benefit. Depending on location and shipping option chosen, many fans receive their games in advance of the retail release, but this is not always the case. Pre-ordering does not guarantee that you will receive the game prior to the retail release date.

The pre-order Bonus Edition costs the same as the standard edition game. The Bonus Edition is NOT available through other online vendors or retail stores.

Is the BONUS EDITION the same for the Digital Download and Physical (Boxed) Version?

Yes, both the Digital Download and Physical (Boxed) pre-orders of the game include the same BONUS content.

Will I get my Pre-Order before it’s available in stores?

Pre-ordering does not guarantee that you will receive the game prior to the retail release date.

Digital Pre-Orders – Download Information

The date that digital pre-orders will be available for download is posted on the Shop page and game Product page. When the downloads become available, you will receive a notification email with instructions on how to download your game and/or strategy guide. Emails are sent over a period of several hours, so not everyone will receive their download email at the same time. If downloads have been released, and you have not received your download email within 24 hours, please email customerservice@herinteractive.com.

Physical (Boxed) Pre-Orders – Shipping Information

Physical (Boxed) pre-orders will begin shipping approximately one (1) week prior to the retail store release date, and are processed in the order that they are received, and also by shipping option priority (Next Day, 2nd Day, Standard Ground & USPS Domestic Postal).

Due to the high volume of pre-orders, shipping can occur over a period of 2-3 days. Remember that FedEx shipping times do not include weekends or holidays, so do not count those days when estimating arrival. USPS continues to move packages over the weekend, so you can expect your order to arrive in approximately 5-7 days with this option. Also, please note that shipping times may vary depending on your location (West Coast – East Coast). **International Postal shipments can expect delays up to four to six weeks due to customs and shipping requirements. There is no tracking available for International Postal shipments.**

We start shipping pre-orders early so that they will arrive at approximately the same time that the retail stores make their copies available. Depending on location and shipping option chosen, many fans receive their games in advance of the retail release, but this is not always the case.

One thing to keep in mind is that customers who choose the Next Day or 2nd Day shipping options have the best chance of receiving their game early, but the Standard Ground (3-5 business days) and USPS (5-7 business day) shipping options can take up to the full amount of business days (and sometimes longer) to arrive depending on the distance to your location. Orders ship from Minnesota, US.

Because the pre-order period usually extends past the date that pre-order shipping starts (by a few days), pre-orders placed after shipping begins may experience a shipping delay.

If you purchase additional products at the same time as a pre-ordered item, those products will be shipped when the pre-ordered item ships due to our bundle policy. To receive your standard products earlier, we suggest placing a separate order from the pre-ordered item.

How will I know my order has shipped?

Your order will be updated with shipment tracking as soon as it ships, and you will receive an email confirmation with the USPS or FedEx tracking number. **There is no tracking available for International Postal shipments – tracking information will not be displayed.**

How can I track my order?

Your tracking information is available within your Her Interactive account. To access your account to track your order, from our Shop page athttps://www.herinteractive.com/Video_Game_Shop, click on the link for “Account Sign In” on the left hand side.  Log in using your email address and password.  Once logged in, please click on the link for “Online Store Support & FAQs” on the left. Your tracking information will be stored here. Click on the tracking number for more infomation.

USPS: If your tracking number begins with “91” you should be able to go to https://www.usps.com/, choose Track & Confirm, then copy/paste your tracking number into the box and click the “Find” button.

FedEx: Go to http://www.fedex.com/us/, then copy/paste your tracking number into the box and click the “Track” button.

It can sometimes take up to 24 hours for USPS or FedEx to update their site with the tracking information, so if you receive a message stating the USPS or FedEx tracking number cannot be found, then wait and try again later.

**There is no tracking available for International Postal shipments.**

I can’t find info on how often new games come out.
Also is it the same time each year or so we ever get two games in a year?
    I would enjoy knowing.
    Thank you

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Karuna! Games are usually released in the Spring and Fall each year. There was no game release fall 2015, though as ND #33 has been delayed.

  2. Daleth says:

How do I pre order a game? I don’t this option for the new Nancy drew game #33

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Daleth! The buttons to purchase a pre-ordered game will be clickable on Tuesday, October 15th at 11:00am Pacific Time. At the moment, they are disabled.

  3. Amelia says:

Hi, I just pre-ordered midnight in Salem, but I didn’t buy the extended download service so it tells me I have 30 days to download it. Is this a problem?

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Amelia! Not a problem, Starting December 3rd when the game releases, you will have 30 days to download your copy. Be sure to backup your files by copying them to a hard drive, jump drive, or large DVD disc for safe keeping. 🙂

  4. Elena says:

I pre-ordered the digital version of MiS. What time will the downloads be available on December 3rd?

  5. Susan says:

Hi, I’m not new to Nancy Drew games, however, I am new to buying them actually through HeR Interactive. I just preordered the Windows physical copy. This is probably the dumbest question in the world but 1. Can I buy extended download service still? And 2. Is there a benefit to doing so? Also, are there any games 1-33, other than the #33 I just bought, ever again made available as physical copies? 3. I worry if companies, heaven forbid HeR Interactive) go out of business there goes my game never to be seen again. I’ve belonged to a online game subscription service and have a lot of games and some I haven’t played yet that I worry if the company I’m subscribed through goes ought of business I’m up a creek having literally payed $1000s of dollars. Anyone with answers?

    Thanks (and please don’t laugh),
    Sus

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hi Susan! Thank you for supporting HeR Interactive and pre-ordering the game from us! Unfortunately, the Extended Download Service (EDS) is only for digital games. Purchasing this will not apply to the physical copies. Once we run out of physical copies, there will only be digital downloads available. Sorry! 🙁

  6. Jack says:

I pre-ordered MiS Nov. 8th and have still not receive tracking information. It is now Dec. 3rd and the game is out. I’m confused on the point of pre-ordering if my game is not even in the process of shipping by the time it is released. Customer service has also been awful through both companies.

    • Little Jackalope says:

Hello Jack, due to a high volume of orders and the holidays, our distribution partner is experiencing a delay in shipping out physical copies of Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem. As soon as the game ships you will receive confirmation and tracking information. We anticipate that all the physical copies will be shipped by the end of the week. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.
