Patch – Shadow at the Water’s Edge: Delete Channels on Recorder; Tea Ceremony Labels

A single patch is available for two problems:

1) Cannot delete channels on the recording device when all channels are full.

2) Item name labels missing during Tea Ceremony.

NB: After installing the patch based on PC or Mac directions below, open your saved game where the problem occurred. For the recorder, listen to all the channels again before proceeding. For the Tea Ceremony labels, the missing labels are returned to the menu on the right-hand side of the puzzle screen.


PC USERS ONLY: Download and install the patch from the Shadow at the Water’s Edge game folder: Shadow at the Water’s Edge Patch 1.0.2 – PC Only


MAC USERS ONLY: Your computer must have an active internet connection. The patch will automatically open an update window the next time you start the game. Run the update and the patch will automatically install. You do NOT need to download the PC Patch on this page.

    Still having an issue with deleting the recordings. I have a mac and am not sure if it is supposed to fix itself.

    This patch isn’t working for me either; I’m a PC user. I tried listening to the recordings – all of them – again, then deleting the empty ones, but it didn’t work. Is the patch still valid?

    I’ve already emailed tech support but yet have received a reply.

    I’m a MAC user and there was no patch update when I installed my game and yes I have internet connection. My game just starts right up.

    I’d like to be able to finish the game I spent money on. That would be just the greatest seeing as how I’m hung up in the story because of this glitch and can’t do anything but play sudoku.

      When did you send the email? I’ll have tech support look for this again. (The office was closed yesterday and no one is on on the weekends).

        I have the same issue, i got the email from tech support last week saying to follow the instructions on this website (link was in the email) but here it says if you’re a MAC user the update window will pop up when the game is started … but it never does – id like to get my money back if this doesn’t get resolved. thank you

    I’ve also downloaded the patch, twice actually, and it still isn’t working. I would like to be able to finish the game that I bought and I am unable to do anything else until I can get those recordings deleted. I emailed tech support and haven’t heard anything yet.

    I am also a Mac user and I am stuck on the recordings being full as well. Has this problem been figured out yet?

    In the master sudoku, in the middle box i have something wrong, but I can’t erase any of them since I have already completed the box. In the bottom row I wrote a number that is already in the box in the bottom right.

    I have the same issue with the recorder it is full and I need to erase the channels so that I can record the correct areas.

    I am still having a problem on the Mac with this. Plus the game seems to be automatically saving so I can’t restart from my second chances.
    However, I have the game downloaded from Steam, any chance the patch will end up going to them?

    Shadow at teh water’s edge hangs up in 2 places when Nancy is talking to Miwako at the desk. 1 is when she asks how she and Rentaro are getting along? The game gets stuck…

    Before that, when she is talking to Miwako about the guests leaving and the games getts stuck repeating “Trust me, Oh”….

    Was there ever an answer given about the recordings not being able to delete on water’s edge? I can’t pick up the argument with the recorder and I have 2 slots left and don’t want to use them if I don’t have to

    Have a Mac, just downloaded the game a few days ago, but still having issues deleting channels. Emailed support a few days ago but haven’t heard back. My sister and I would love to be able to finish the game!
