MEGAN GAISER, PRESIDENT and CEO of HER INTERACTIVE NAMED TO IGDA WOMEN IN GAMES ADVISORY BOARD

Bellevue, WA, April 8, 2009 – Her Interactive, Inc., the designer, developer and publisher of the acclaimed and best-selling Nancy Drew game series, today announced that Megan Gaiser, president and CEO, has been named to the 2009 IGDA Women in Games Advisory Board.

The IGDA Women in Games Advisory Board operates within the IGDA (International Games Developers Association) and serves as a special interest group with a seven year history of supporting and promoting women in games. The IGDA is the largest non-profit membership organization serving individuals that create video games

“I am extremely honored to be selected as part of the IGDA Women in Games Advisory Board,” said Megan Gaiser, president and CEO of Her Interactive. “Promoting opportunities for women as well as supporting greater diversity of game content for women has long been a personal and professional priority, and to do so through such a respected group as the IGDA is a wonderful opportunity to make a larger impact.”

Fiona Cherbak, chairperson for IGDA Women in Games, adds, “We are very pleased to welcome Megan Gaiser to our advisory board. In her roles as life-time entrepreneur and game developer, Megan exemplifies the kind of professional woman in the games industry that we both seek to support and learn from. We also acknowledge her successful trajectory as a great example of what other women in games can aspire to achieve in their careers. Against many odds, Megan succeeded in boot-strapping the Nancy Drew franchise into one of the top selling game series of all time, and without the involvement of a major game publisher.”

Long an advocate for women in gaming, Megan Gaiser is the president and CEO of Her Interactive, the pioneer in interactive entertainment targeted towards female play preferences. She is an accomplished speaker who recently participated in the 2009 SXSW panel entitled, “Gaming as a Gateway Drug: Getting Girls Interested in Technology,” and was a presenter at the recent 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards.

Under Megan’s stewardship, Her Interactive has achieved combined sales of more than six million units worldwide for the company’s Nancy Drew PC game franchise, and was named one of the “Game Industry’s 100 Most Influential Women” by Next Generation News.
