BELLEVUE, Wash., Mar. 27, 2015 – Outstanding businesses on the Eastside that uphold a strong commitment to quality, community and innovation were recognized at the 26th Annual Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Eastside Business Awards reception and ceremony on March 26. 48 nominees were honored and the winners are:

  • Eastside Business of the Year – RootMetrics (Bellevue, WA)

Recognized for their sustained superior performance as an established Eastside business of over 100 employees; encompassing the organization’s business leadership in its industry, its history of recognizing and seizing market opportunities, the strength of the candidate’s leadership team and workforce, and the company’s financial stability.

RootMetrics is an independent mobile analytics firm that offers scientifically collected and crowdsourced mobile network performance information to consumers and the industry. Founded in 2008, the company captures how consumers experience mobile networks in real-world situations. The tests are distilled into a series of mobile network reports offered free to the public on the firm’s website, making it simple for mobile users to compare carrier performance. The company has grown from seven employees in 2010 to 175 employees today.

  • Eastside Small Business of the Year – Her Interactive, Inc. (Bellevue, WA)

Recognized for their superior performance as an Eastside small business of 100 employees or fewer with an established presence in the community, a commitment to workforce excellence, and a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit.

Her Interactive is the leading mystery-maker and pioneer of fun and inspiring interactive entertainment, providing positive role models for girls and getting them interested in STEM related fields. The company, in business for 18 years designs, develops and publishes high-quality mystery adventure games and apps, and is the world leader in the mystery games category. Her Interactive’s Nancy Drew games have sold more than 9 million copies.

  • Innovative Service of the Year – DIY (Do It Yourself) App Builder (AppSheet) (Redmond, WA)

Recognized for launching a new cutting edge product, software, service or application. Launched within the last two years, the service is a game changer that makes life easier, better and sometimes more fun.     It creates value for an existing customer segment or creates a new customer segment.

AppSheet is a start-up company that has been in business one year. The company developed a data-driven DIY (Do it Yourself) platform to create mobile apps. There are several hundreds of millions of spreadsheet users today. AppSheet’s platform gives them the ability to translate their data into a mobile environment, making that data interactive, shareable, and available in real time. AppSheet currently has 11,000 users and 18,000 apps. Users are from 112 countries and new users are joining at a 1,000/week.
