Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch
“A wonderful mystery for the whole family! The best in children's games always tries to meld education with fun, and this game does that superbly, with a smooth integration of factoids about various things coupled with critical thinking activities and a fun adventure. Male or female, Nancy Drew fan or no, get this game!” ~PC GameZone
Nancy Drew: Alibi in Ashes
“It's an impressive milestone to reach, especially considering that the quality of games in the series has remained fairly consistent throughout. Alibi in Ashes shakes up the usual formula, not just by sending Nancy to a different location, but by actually placing her in jail for most of the game while her long-time friends - Bess, Ned, and George - do most of the sleuthing on her behalf.” - Gamezebo

Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch
Brenda Carlton considers herself an ace-crime reporter for the Heights Nine News Team. Her impulsive style tends to put sensationalism over accuracy, regardless of the cost to others. Could she have a deeper story hiding behind her microphone?
An old classmate of Nancy’s, Deirdre Shannon is a spoiled rich girl whose family is constantly being bested by the Drews, and the Clues Challenge is proving to be no different. Competitive, haughty and arrogant, she’s tired of placing second. How far will she go to top Nancy in this competition?
Alexei Markovic is River Heights’ eccentric quasi-recluse who owns the antique shop. He used to be an amateur detective until a case went awry that ruined his reputation. With his knowledge of the town and its history, how far would Alexei go to try to clear his name?
Antonia Scallari stays busy as an elected official on the River Heights City Council, but keeps in touch with her voters by running the local ice cream parlor, Scoop. Toni holds great sway in the community, and appears to be approachable and pleasant. Is this practiced politician’s friendly façade covering up darker secrets?
Nancy’s longtime and loyal boyfriend, Ned arranged for the team to participate in the River Heights Clues Challenge. When Nancy is arrested, he is ready to help her clear her name in any way he can, even if it means using his charm and handsome features to learn more information and distract suspects.
One of Nancy’s best friends, Bess is a sweet, positive, but sometimes high-strung girl who is worried about Nancy. She is willing to set aside her anxiety in order to help get Nancy out of jail and prove her innocence. Her skill in gossiping could lure the right information out of a suspect, so long as her brain doesn’t freeze from eating too much ice cream.
George, Nancy’s other best friend, tends to be more sensible and down to earth than her cousin, Bess. Though her less optimistic outlook can make conversing with suspects difficult, when given the opportunity, George knows just what questions to ask. Her energy and love for high tech gadgetry will come in handy to Nancy and the case.
Head of the River Heights Police Department, Chief McGinnis has had a long working relationship with Nancy and her amateur detective skills. The evidence does not look good, and there is pressure to act quickly, leaving him no choice but to arrest her for arson. Willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, the Chief turns a somewhat blind eye while letting her work on the case from inside the station.
An absent-minded bug scientist, Dr. Kim is working to gain fame and funding. Too bad all the money is going to Craven’s sophisticated facility instead. How far would she go to discover the latest breakthrough in entomology?
Frank and Joe are in Hawaii to investigate the Mapu family for any hidden skeletons. With a lucrative endorsement contract on the line for Pua, the Hardy Boys only have a few spare moments to lend Nancy a hand. Ned might be a little jealous, but they’ve got a mystery of their own!
She spends her days training to become a professional surfer and claims that she doesn’t have time for anything else. Secretive and talented, Pua also helps her dad, Big Island Mike, at the Immersion Excursion.
Mike Mapu runs the Immersion Excursion with the help of his daughter Pua, but it seems like the tourists just aren’t interested. He practically has to force tourists to catch fish, string necklaces, and go snorkeling. There may be something shady about the way he does business…
Known for his tantrums and running the Hilihili Research compound with an iron fist, this scientist has attracted the funds of many investors. Craven keeps his work highly secretive, so no one knows what’s happening in his lab. What is he working on that he wants to keep top-secret?
Dave is the ranch foreman. Always polite, somewhat shy, Dave is a man of business and frustratingly few words. He is truly a “modern” cowboy, into sports, music, and the outdoors. He is not above trying to use his looks to charm his way out of awkward situations.
Tex is an old-fashioned cowpoke. His cynical attitude reflects the fact that he feels much more at home with horses and cattle than with humans. He’s a terrible conversationalist (his favorite word is “nope”), and he not-so-secretly enjoys putting Nancy in situations that he thinks she can’t handle.
The ranch cook, Shorty, is more talkative than the other two ranch hands combined. He also loves to cook, and takes great pride in the food he serves. So criticizing his meals is a recipe for disaster.
This single woman is part Native American and runs a store on land that is adjacent to Shadow Ranch. Mary knows all about the history of the area and she is interested in purchasing the Ranch for herself. Is she trying to scare away the ranch owners so they’ll agree to sell it to her?
A rival whale watching tour owner, Andy obviously would like to keep the orca near to bring more business. However, when Katie’s boat is damaged, it’s curious that he should be the only tour operator left in the area…
Holt is an influential veteran fisherman who would like nothing more than to get rid of the orca that is eating the fish in his waters and causing the fishing ships to detour around the harbor. Could he be the one sabotaging Snake Horse Harbor to intimidate the orca supporters?
The owner of the local coffee shop, Jenna, is a very adamant conversationalist who believes the orca should be rejoined with its pod immediately and by any means possible. Does any means possible include damaging boats and leaving threats?
Katie is a marine biologist who owns a whale watching tour and is able to take scientists and tourists up close to the orca with her permit. Her studies theorize that the whale is sick, and she thinks it should go to the aquarium for further research. Did her unpopular opinions land her in hot water?
Responsible for all of the visual art components at the park, Elliot is a bit of a procrastinator. His latest projects seem to be impacting the park, so maybe he created a little diversion so the park managers would fixate on the current crisis instead of his work ethics?
The newly hired security guard, Harlan, has done quite a bit of job hopping in the past. He’s eager to prove to his bosses that they should keep him permanently. Setting up a few ‘accidents’ and then solving the mystery would make him look like a hero…
Smart and beautiful Ingrid maintains all of the rides in the park, even the ones that have malfunctioned. She believes the park operators have disturbed a cursed spirit. Is this just a good excuse or does she have other motives for revenge?
Joy’s father used to own the park with Paula Santos, but Santos bought him out. She’s bitter that she’s just the bookkeeper of the park instead of its rightful owner. Could Joy have summoned spirits and caused accidents to help her claim her stake?
