HI: In Danger by Design, Minette, the fashion designer, is a bit um, eccentric and throws tantrums. Does anything like that ever happen in your studio?

Mark: We make lots of off-the-wall comments by pulling lines from our movie of the week and using them randomly in our conversations. Our latest one was “No, I was never turned into no toad” from “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.”

Molly: We also to have a habit of talking to our dog Shadow. He’s the handsomest dog and his bossy puppy was the inspiration for our Spy Dog shirt.

Mark: I’m the bossy puppy’s grandfather! There are also days when there’s kicking and screaming. We’re really self-expressed and don’t hold back.

HI: What words of advice would you give to any aspiring fashion designers out there?

Molly: Just do it! Start drawing and coming up with designs. Then test your designs out on your friends and have them wear your work! This way, other people will see what you’ve done and if they think it’s cool, they’ll ask you to make one for them too.

Mark: I’d recommend looking at trends, colors, different fads, posters, and take everything in. There’s so much out there and you don’t want to isolate yourself. “Grab it and growl!” – that’s what my dad used to say. You have to get your hands dirty!
