Some of you have seen the quick flash on the billboard in Nancy Drew Central – about a new series that's "Fast Fun for Busy Detectives." And this is the place to get the inside scoop!

We decided to create a new Nancy Drew series for fans of Nancy Drew who may not have the time to sit down and solve all the complicated puzzles in our current adventure games. You are all super sleuths who can track down all the hidden and obscure clues, but sometimes it's difficult for other Nancy Drew fans to to sit down in front of the computer and take notes to solve a game. They want to relax and have fun without thinking too hard - just a little.

So we've created Nancy Drew Dossier – a series that's in the same vein as The Cody Capers (who should have been Togo) – it's simpler, faster, but still takes a bit of thinking! Only this time, we have worked really hard to create a mystery and a story that you can't get enough of. Where Cody Capers relied mostly on a a single mechanic and difficult levels to create a fun game, Nancy Drew Dossier ties together a simple mechanic with a great plot.

The question for you to figure out is: what's the main game mechanic? Or maybe, what's a game mechanic in the first place???

More to come!

As some of you brilliant sleuths may have figured out already, Her Interactive is creating a Hardy Boys game for the Nintendo DS. We had hoped to create a Nancy Drew game for the DS, but another company has the rights to that, so we'll continue just making the Nancy Drew games for the PC only.

I've heard the Nancy Drew DS games are okay - there's a few of them on the market right now. Have you played them? Are they fun? What would you change about them?

But since we're creating a Hardy Boys DS game, let me give you a hint about the title. It uses the same abbreviations as one of our PC games. Here are the letters: onseehaktrrsuetartc

Good luck!

As readers of this blog, I wanted to let you in on a little secret. Her Interactive is working on a game with Nancy's friends. Below is a picture of one of them.

But here's the catch - it's a Nintendo DS game.

And it won't be available until Spring 2009. Stay tuned for more information.

We're getting closer and closer everyday... So today's tidbit for you. I've invited our game designer to describe The Haunting of Castle Malloy in her own words and this is what she had to say:

"Nancy was expecting a quiet arrival and a chance to finally meet the groom but has instead found herself at an Irish castle in the middle of the night with more questions than answers.

Where did Matt disappear to? Why is Kyler so calm about the disappearance? Who or what gave Kit that black eye? When will the doomed individual at Castle Malloy that Donal mentioned meet their fate? And what is up with that crow?

The secrets and clues are now in your hands. Discover the chilling truth hidden behind the castle's walls and find Matt before it's too late!"

I was doing some research and came across 'fan' videos - what a treat! This one was particularly funny. What talent our players have - who knows, maybe one will become the next Hitchcock!
