Sixth Installment in Award-Winning Series Finds Nancy Tracking the
Sinister Red Handprint of a Dangerous Thief

BELLEVUE, Wash., September 17, 2002 – Her Interactive, a developer of interactive entertainment for mystery fans of all ages, today announced the release of Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand for Windows PC. The mystery adventure game offers a thrilling interactive experience where players test their wits by solving puzzles and searching rooms for clues that will lead to the resolution of Nancy Drew’s latest mystery. It is the sixth game in the highly acclaimed Nancy Drew CD-ROM series and is geared toward players ages 10 and up.

In Secret of the Scarlet Hand, Nancy Drew is helping to prepare an exhibit of artifacts from the ancient Maya civilization. Suddenly the museum alarms sound; a priceless Mexican relic has been stolen, and the only clue is a sinister scarlet handprint. As Nancy Drew, players investigate a string of mysterious thefts to uncover a long-buried secret and solve an ancient mystery.

As in all the Nancy Drew games from Her Interactive, players get in-game assistance by phoning Nancy’s friends Ned, Bess and George. This game marks the first time that Nancy can also get help from her longtime friends, The Hardy Boys. Secret of the Scarlet Hand introduces several new game features including a Journal Mode, which allows players to view their progress. Players in search of game tips can visit the online message boards found at www.herinteractive.com to ask for and share information with other Nancy Drew fans. Just like all the games in the Nancy Drew series, Secret of the Scarlet Hand feature two levels of difficulty: Junior and Senior Detective.


Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand is targeted at players ages 10 and up, and carries an ESRB rating of “E” (Everyone). Secret of the Scarlet Hand is distributed in the U.S. by Infogrames, Inc. (NASDAQ: IFGM) and is available through retail outlets nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, and Electronics Boutique. In addition, the game is available through online outlets including Amazon.com and Scholastic.

System requirements for the game include: Windows 95/98/2000/Me/XP; 166 MHz Pentium processor; 16MB RAM; 130 MB available hard disk space; 16-bit color graphics video card; 8x CD-ROM drive; 16-bit Windows-compatible stereo sound card; mouse and speakers.
