HER INTERACTIVE WINS PARENTS' CHOICE GOLD MEDAL FOR
NANCY DREW: MESSAGE IN A HAUNTED MANSION

BELLEVUE, Wash. November 13, 2000 - Her Interactive, a leading developer of interactive entertainment for girls, today announced that its new PC game, Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion has received a Parents' Choice Gold Award. The award is sponsored by the Parents' Choice Foundation, one of the most prestigious evaluators of children's products in the nation. Message in a Haunted Mansion is the third installment in the highly acclaimed Nancy Drew computer game series. The game is scheduled to hit store shelves in November.

The Parents' Choice Awards recognize excellence in several media targeted at children including toys, audio, books, computer software, magazines, videos, television programming, and video games. More than 1,500 products were entered across all categories. Message in a Haunted Mansion was chosen as a gold winner for kids ages 10 to 16. This is the second gold medal the Parents' Choice Foundation has awarded Her Interactive. The company received one last spring for its second Nancy Drew computer game, Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger.

"We are very proud of the fact that we make creative, interesting and challenging games that don't promote violence," said Megan Gaiser, president of Her Interactive. "Receiving top billing from the Parents' Choice Foundation in recognition of our dedication to providing a positive interactive experience for kids is truly an honor."

Message in a Haunted Mansion is a mystery adventure game that lets players assume the identity of teenage super-sleuth Nancy Drew as she unravels the mysterious happenings inside a haunted mansion. The story begins when Nancy is invited by a friend to San Francisco to assist in the renovation of a charming Victorian mansion. Shortly after her arrival, Nancy finds out that there may be other uninvited guests as well - perhaps visitors from the past - who want the place all to themselves. Nancy suspects that there is another force at work: greed. According to legend, a fortune in long-lost gold is hidden somewhere on the property and someone is determined to find it. But in a house full of trap doors and secret tunnels, breaking glass and suspicious fires, finding the truth isn't easy.

About Parents' Choice
Founded in 1978, Parents' Choice Foundation is the nation's oldest not-for-profit evaluator of children's books, videos, toys, audios, computer software, television, and magazines. The Foundation's mission is to provide parents with information to participate wisely in their children's learning. Parents' Choice has no commercial ties, which allows it to maintain its tradition of an independent voice. Only a small percentage of entries receive any level of Parents' Choice commendation. In addition to its media reviews, Parents' Choice Foundation has initiated a number of children's literacy programs and projects, including Read to Achieve, Reading is Power, and What-Kids-Who-Don't-Like-To-Read-Like-To-Read, a book list for reluctant readers. Since its inception, the foundation has donated more than 400,000 books, toys, computer software, and videos to schools, libraries, and pediatric hospitals via corporate grants and the generosity of public-spirited volunteers.
