NANCY DREW: MESSAGE IN A HAUNTED MANSION SHIPS FOR THE NINTENDO® GAME BOY® ADVANCE
Award Winning PC Game Debuts on Most Popular Console Machine

BELLEVUE, Wash., November 13, 2001 – Her Interactive, a leading developer of interactive entertainment for girls, today announced the release of Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion for Nintendo of America’s Game Boy? Advance handheld video game system. The mystery adventure game is the first Game Boy Advance installment of the highly acclaimed Nancy Drew CD-ROM mystery series and is geared toward girls ages eight and up.

“We are very excited to create a game for the most popular handheld game system, Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance,” said Megan Gaiser, president of Her Interactive. “We have an established fan base of girls and women attracted to our popular mystery games on the PC and are looking forward to offering Message in a Haunted Mansion to the Game Boy Advance market.”

Message in a Haunted Mansion players assume the identity of teenage super-sleuth Nancy Drew as she unravels the mysterious happenings inside a haunted mansion. The story begins when Nancy is invited by a friend to San Francisco to assist in the renovation of a charming Victorian mansion. As Nancy winds her way through a richly, detailed and historically accurate three-level Victorian mansion, she finds out that there may be uninvited guests as well – perhaps visitors from the past – who want the place all to themselves. Nancy suspects another force is at work: greed. According to legend, a fortune in long-lost gold is hidden somewhere on the property and someone is determined to find it. But in a house full of trapdoors and secret tunnels, breaking glass and suspicious fires, finding the truth isn’t easy. One misstep and Nancy won’t stand a chance.

As players search for clues hidden in every nook and cranny of the old mansion, they can use tools such as keys and crowbars in order to access rooms and solve puzzles. Included with the game is a Players’ Manual that offers descriptions of clues, tools and characters to help players progress.

Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion, published and distributed by DreamCatcher Interactive, has a suggested retail price of US $39.99 and carries an ESRB rating of “E” (Everyone). The game is available through Amazon, and other online outlets, and through retail outlets nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Electronics Boutique and Best Buy.
