Who Will be the First?!?
Wed, 2006-09-27 16:33 — Krolmeister
It's always exciting to see who will be the first player to solve CRE and find out what Nancy's next mystery will be!
Then they'll know whether their guesses for ND16 were right or wrong.

...a maze of planting beds and gardens. Disguised, Nancy can move freely amongst the Hilhili workers. The workers, in their matching yellow suits, will be spraying plants and taking inventory on handheld devices. By clicking on hotspots, P finds each planting bed labeled with its code ID engraved on a small...

The first image posted on the CRE webpage was a little fuzzy - we'll get that fixed once our IT comes back from his honeymoon though. In the meantime, here's the packaging in all of it's detail!
We started with the title and decided that a picture of the cave would work best on the cover. The legendary cave glowing and staring right at the player from the shelf worked really well.
The packaging also needed to convey Hawaii to the buyer, so we added tikis, the beach, palm trees, and a rather dangerous volcano. I can almost hear the steady pounding of the drums for the hula music. Hawaii is also famous for it lush rainforests, so the cave is surrounded in vegetation and has a few flowers.
And most importantly, since the player gets to play as Frank and Joe Hardy, we added them into the packaging. They're running toward Nancy to tell her something, but they have their own mystery to solve. If you look carefully, they look slightly different then they were in TRN. This is because a different animation company created these characters. They should feel more lifelike and move more fluidly. I'll post more pics of the boys when we get closer to launch. :P

I remember when I was a wee lad in the 80's listening to Human League's Fascination album. I'd listen to it over and over and over. And now, today - on this very special day - I realize how appropriate the 2nd to the last song is on this very special day...
Inside Flap

Two tikis stare at you, eyes glowing, as you take a deep breath. "The bridge is stable," you reassure yourself. The rushing river in the canyon hundreds feet below is hardly any comfort. It seems impossible to walk with your knees shaking so hard.
You grab the railings of the bridge so tightly that you knuckles turn white. It's a long way down... Carefully, you place one foot on the bridge, inch forward to make sure it'll support your weight, and then place your other foot in front. The bridge sways precariously in the wind as you move to the next plank. CRACK!
What happens next?
