Walking the Plank

Ransom of the Seven Ships is now shipping! If you preordered the game, it is on its way to you in the mail. It is also now available for purchase on our online store. Look for it in stores and as a download on 7/14.

As we've mentioned before, this game is a little different. After 20 games, we try to create new twists for each game. You might have noticed that there aren't as many suspects in the game. We did this on purpose - to give the island a very desolate feeling, so that you as the player would feel just as helpless and lonely if you were stranded on an island. In the end, we wanted our fans to feel more like they were on a quest to find the treasure and save Bess. It's less about who-done-it and more about saving your best friend. Afterall, saving Bess is what this mystery is all about. Are you ready to dive into danger to save your BFF? Get ready, because Ransom of the Seven Ships has already set sail and you don't want to miss the boat!

What do you think of the game so far?

Please, there are more than enough suspects. It's totally the monkeys who did it. Don't get mad at me for spoiling the game because I've never played it, I just know.

i think it's cool! But I don't really like the idea of less culprits. My motto is the more people to meet and talk to the more fun! You guys are geniuses though so i expect the game to be great either way.

What about the third person view? Is there any plans to change it in the future nancy drew games?

I'm a little iffy about there being only 1 character. So does this mean John IS for sure the culprit? IDK. I'm uber excited for RAN though. I preordered!

I am very excited about this game. On the HerInteractive website, there only seems to be a few characters. Are there any more?

Hmm. Am I getting the definite feeling that the culprit of this game might be a person in the games before? Let's say maybe it'll be Samantha Quick or maybe Eda Brookes?
Whatever. If you think this is crazy, I am just getting a feeling.

Ok, good! I thought it was a little wierd that there are only 4 people on the island, one of which is a bird, the other one missing, and one is the missing persons cousin! Oh I wonder who did it?? I'm glad it's not a who-dunnit because that would be to easy!!

I expected more educational lessons. Looking back on other HER games, I will never forget what I learned about constellations and Houdini. Children--even teenagers, nowadays, like learning about different stuff while solving mysteries. It adds much more fun to the game. This game in particular gave me a huge headache due to all the puzzles I had to solve. I loved that we finally get to see what Bess and George look like. That was very brave since their appearances were kept secret for many of the games. I played senior level and I understand that senior level players do not get too much help. Although, it would have been nice if Nancy and George could have spoken more to each other. I would like to wrap up this long comment on a good note: I love that you have continued the Nancy Drew series and I hope that you still continue them. I know people of all ages, literally, who enjoy playing Nancy Drew. Thank you.

I don't think I've ever played a game with so many challenging puzzles. Some of the puzzles, I have recognized from previous games, but all in all, they were fun to attempt. Thank you for continuing the Nancy Drew games.

I didn't "love" the game but I really liked it. And yes, it was a little different than the other games. I really liked the puzzles in this game. They were so creative! I can't wait until "Warnings at Waverly" comes out. !! It looks really cool! Thank you herinteractive for making life so much fun! ;)

I love and played all of Nancy Drew games, but this one I'm disappointed in, can't get the compass from that monkey been trying for 2 weeks. I'm about to give up on this game...(:o((()

I've played this game already and it's really good. Just the right amount of suspects, but I wish it were scarier like Hau and Cur. I'm looking forward to "Warnings at Waverly Place"!

o.k. not my favorite game, but it was still a semi-fun game. there were not enough characters at all. the ending seemed like the HER people just ran out of creativity and ideas. i don't like how there could be two different endings. the game was not all that scary, spooky, or surprising, which is what makes a ND game fun. george and bess were kinda ugly. and their voices didn't sound right.

So I played the game and really wasn't that impressed with it. The music sounded like it was from Pirates of the Carribean, there weren't enough characters so the bad guy was really obvious. CouCou's character was pointless on Senior even though I kinda liked talking to her. The awards were stupid in the end and the ending was the lamest one yet! Did HER just run out of ideas or what? Also the bad guy gets away!!! That is the lamest ending ever! Hoping that the next game is better than this and scarier!(It wouldn't be hard)For me this game was a total bust.

There are a lot of mixed feelings about this game. Personally,I am in the middle. Some people feel that there weren,t enough characters, others don't mind. Some like scary games, others don't. A lot of people thought that the puzzles were too hard, while others liked them. Some people liked how Bess and George looked, others don't. I hope that HER will read all of our comments, since we took the time to write them, and will use them to find the perfect balance for the next game. A balance of mystery, characters, and over all thrill.
P.S. CouCou's tricks were really repetative and it was hard to see them all (I know I didn't)

OMG this is the hardest ND game ever! Also, I am tired of running around doing so many errands. Enjoying it, though...

In my opinion, HeR, this game totally stunk. :\ Sorry to be so blunt, but that is my opinion. Even if this doesn't get published, you atleast know.
1) There weren't enough suspects. I mean, there were only basically two. The Gibsons, who were a main suspect, never even showed up. And no, the monkeys did not do it. They weren't even suspects--even though that would've been a better ending than this one.
2.) The ending was bad! There was no suspense. You could only die by not getting it right. It's not like the culprit was going to kill you. No fun.
3.) You spoiled an ending for those who haven't played one of your other games! So, it was no fair! My cousin never played one of your games, and now she has her ending spoiled. Where in the world did you get that from? Not a good idea.

Sorry to vent so much, but I am MAD--this game I would not recomend to others.

OK, I would like to say this first. Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake had a desolate feel to it, but there were more characters in it. The whole essence of a mystery fades away when there are few to suspect.
Besides that though, where was the scary element? I can still play GDML, DDI, CRY, SSH, BBM (and a few others) repeatedly and still get scared! Herinteractive, you say you set out to make games for kids, but even my eight year old sister wants the recent games to contain a stronger fear factor. I hope you post this comment not for the criticism, but for the heartfelt desire for the games to return to their old school persona. :)

Gosh! I thought this game was awesome! I really liked that we got to see George and Bess and that we got to be George! She's one of my favorite characters... well, besides Nancy Drew.

I thought it was cool that a past culprit came back... it took forever to remember who the culprit was and what other game he was from but, I remembered when he started talking about what he did and stuff. What an awesome twist at the end too... what happened to him? Duh, duh, duuuhhh!!! tehe

well, it was really good and I can't wait for Waverly Academy especially since it's similiar to my own school, haha! :P

i truly love nancy drew, i have been playing these games for about 5 years or so now. i have every single game ever released. They never seem to get old but i was hoping in the future of Nancy Drew Games they would release a game that would be MUCH FAR scarier then any other game. This would make gamers talk more and become aware of the unknown scariest game out for Nancy Drew. It would test your skills to see if your a real detictive prepared to dive into a new scary adventure and become the true Nancy Drew Master. Could you guys handle it? Now if say something like this was to leave you with a thought, the age range may have to change for this game but really that would make me all the more excited to buy it! Thank you so much!
