Creating the Dossier Series Packaging

When we created the boxed packaging for Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses we needed to make it different from the Adventure series. Although it might be in a different section in stores than the Adventure series, we didn't want to confuse any fans about what they were buying. After all, if you bought a game and expected to see animiated characters and vague mind-bending puzzles, you would probably be sorely disappointed in the Dossier series. It's a great game - just not THAT type of game. At it's core, Lights, Camera, Curses is a hidden object mystery game with some great mini-games so the player does things that a real detective might do besides seaching for clues.

So to echo the Adventure series and give it a new twist we mad these changes:
- made the box like a Dossier folder - this is meant to be a real life dossier from the Nancy Drew Dossier logo
- chose a color for the folder - in this case, it's brown to match the Egyptian theme
- added a tab in the black PC bar that's meant to reflect a folder tab
- used Poloriod photos instead of straight screenshots to give the illusion of of the inside of the folder
- the title of the game will be in a different font and treatment every time

However, we did keep a focal object in the center of the box (the pharaoh). Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses! can now be purchased at Walmart near you or on our online store.

What do you think? Does it look different enough from our Adventure series games?

I have purchased LCC about two weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. Although it's not like the adventure games, it still is able to keep my mind working looking for the hidden clues, just not as hard as the adventure games would. The only dissapointment to me was the game was too short. I think that it should've had more hours of game play. I solved it in 2 days and didn't use help.

So far the Dossier Series looks Intreging, my appoligies now for any misspelled words, I am wondering though when the next, if any, adventure games will be coming out? I would very much love to try the Dossier series but alas it has not yet come to the Walmart here where I live. How many games are approximately going to be in the series?

I purchased this game and can't tell you enough how disappointed I was in it. It was so simple and should have been marked for ages 13 and under. I have every single one of the regular games and can't wait for the next one to come out - but this one was truly a disappointment to me.

I didn't like this game very much. It was ok, but I think I'll stick to the adventure series from now on.

I just finished LCC and was terribly disappointed in it. I do not think I will continue playing if that is what is coming out. I have played and replayed the adventure series and have introduced several of my friends to them. They too have purchased the set and didnt like the LCC either. I do so hope you are not discontinuing the adventure games. It will truly be a disappointment.

I just bought the game a couple of weeks ago, and have played through it twice. I really love it. You can't expect it to be like the adventure series, because they are so different. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
