“Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall continues to provide some of the best storytelling around, and the game's ample dialog means even the most diehard player will take a few hours to unravel all of its secrets. While navigation may be cumbersome, it's definitely not a deal breaker, and it's far too easy to get sucked into the game and never want to stop until you reach the conclusion.” Rated 4/5 Stars

“The mystery for Nancy to solve is as intriguing as ever, the writing and voice-acting is solid (though a bit cheesy in places), puzzles are challenging, and the atmosphere is suitably creepy. Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall debuts two wonderful gameplay additions: an expanded hints system and the ability to fast-forward through dialog.”

“It's yet another solid adventure game in a series that has always been among the best the genre has to offer. I have no idea how Her Interactive manages to keep their level of quality so high in such a consistent manner, but whatever they're doing, it works.”

“One of the initial goals of Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall is to discern whether a ghost is real or not. There are creepy things that happen in Nancy Drew Ghost of Thornton Hall. Not just what you hear from characters in the game, but things you will also see while playing this Personal Computer game.”

“This is by far the scariest game of all in the entire series of Nancy Drew games. Tread carefully when you play the Ghost of Thornton Hall, or you will get scared out of your wits when you meet some rather spooky apparitions... We here at GamesWarp have thoroughly enjoyed this game and know that this series of adventure games deserves much more attention than it is currently getting.”

“The game starts with Nancy being awakened by her cell phone. The caller is Savannah Woodham, a ghost-hunter/paranormal expert who assisted Nancy in her previous adventure, Shadow at the Water's Edge. She needs Nancy's help. A young woman (Jessalyn Thornton) has disappeared during a scavenger hunt at a run-down, supposedly haunted mansion belonging to the Thornton family...”

“I have to say it was amazing! It took me three days to play it but that's because I played it for hours on end and even had to get help at the amazing Nancy Drew Message Boards when I got stuck! The game is exciting and even a bit scary at times! And since I've been playing them for years, I saw some changes that I loved...”

“A few times a year, there's an excitement building among the girls/ladies in our family. It starts a few weeks before the release date of the newest Nancy Drew PC game, and by the time we actually have it in hand and installed, we're all super ready!”

“I was really surprised at the level of scares in GTH. After SAW, I thought that HeR was starting to turn down the scares, but they proved me wrong. This game is definitely the scariest to date, not to mention a obvious effort the artists put into Charlotte. GTH will without a doubt be going up on my list of favorites.”

While it does have a couple of minor issues, overall Ghost of Thornton Hall is a thoroughly satisfying experience that you can get at a bargain price. While the book series might be geared towards a younger audience, the games seem to be more of a fun-for-all-ages endeavor, meaning anyone that isn't a grumpy curmudgeon should be able to enjoy this. If Ghost of Thornton Hall is any indication, Nancy Drew is a strong adventure series and worth checking out regardless of your age.
